Kai Havertz (29)

Didn’t we just sign him this summer?

Yes, in a different team.

Bissouma was fucking shit last season and today ran the show for Spurs under Ange.

Can’t see him ever being a guaranteed starter

Havertz starts games, does nothing week in week out.

Vieira gets subbed on, delivers good performances.

Now Vieira starts instead of Havertz…

So Havertz has lost his place no?

Same thing as Raya/Ramsdale? Ramsdale has lost his place as Raya has started several games in a row now, even an NLD.

But yes I don’t think we should beat him down, but I think all the criticism made is valid.

That said, I’ll be heading to the other threads to give Jesus and Eddie their just deserts too, as we can’t rely on Jesus and Eddie just isn’t good enough.

Difference with Bissouma he’s a player that’s already shown his capability to the league at Brighton and just needed regaining his confidence after one down season.

Vieira was in a different league all together. The parallel people are drawing is just to excuse Havertz for being anonymous in almost every showing for us.

His entire time on the pitch today was just him making a couple dribbles then immediately getting muscled off the ball.

I honestly don’t understand why Arteta spent so much on him. He does not fill any of our immediate needs which I felt were an out and out elite striker and/or a more mobile Xhaka replacement who could come in and hit the ground running. Then of course a Saka back up.
Jurien is a great buy but has been blessed with the famous Arsenal injury curse. Rice as a Partey replacement is great. I still feel that the Kai money could have been spent better elsewhere.
Not gonna knock Kai as he seems to be playing like he played at Chelsea i.e not great.

At least we didn’t lose.

Well tbf Jorginho not only gave up a goal, I thought he was pretty bad even without that.

As far as Havertz goes, I’m just not seeing it and for 65m we should be getting something. No goals, no assists, no dynamism, he’s just a body out there rn. Maybe there was some grand plan that required Timber being fit but if that’s true it’s pretty poor planning.

I do feel we did that a lot with Xhaka at times too. Maybe that position is cursed :grimacing:

Tbf Xhaka playing the left eight got shit because he was playing right at the top of his attacking ability and at times it was clear that having a more technical player there could be helpful.

As it turns out Havertz is giving us basically the same exact thing Xhaka gave us only without any of those late runs into the box so overall it looks worse.

This has to be my least read thread on here. Scrollscrollscroll

Its not working, doesn’t need huge analysis. Needs to show something very soon.

Lol, no he wasn’t.

He was so static in a match that needed more dynamism. He’s been good when coming in to close out matches but this wasn’t a good cameo from him imo.

That’s Jorginho for you. You can’t expect him to be something he can’t.

You’ll want Zinny to be Ashley Cole next.

I know what he is but I can expect him to at least execute some simple stuff correctly. Felt like he wasn’t even doing that. He’s had good and great cameos for us since singing but this was a bad one.

Certainly, right after the toxic fanbase gives it a rest for five minutes :grinning:

Can you cite examples?

Honestly, I’ve not heard anyone say Jorginho made more than that one (big) mistake today

I’ll go back and rewatch to try to see if I’m letting his mistake color the whole performance but I was getting really frustrated with him. We had zero control and he’s supposed to offer that control.

He had 28 passes in 45 minutes. That’s pretty bad for your DM. He had no throughballs I can think of either.

I do remember a few passes to Eddie in behind. It might have been Jorginho that played him through.
