Kai Havertz (29)

wouldn’t count on it…if anything they would say the opposite. ‘even with all of those injuries they somehow managed to get themselves in this position very very lucky arsenal very lucky.’

Whatever you think of his footballing ability, just look at what we were banking on him sustaining for the rest of the season minutes-wise because there isn’t another striker. Mad.

I think I tempted fate with this one

A torn hamstring. A second one. What the actual fuck is Arteta doing to these guys.

One season where City are crumbling, we get shit load injuries and batshit crazy red cards. This club is cursed, man.

Arteta has every right to be furious with the directors. He clearly wanted us to make signings and the club needed to be more aggressive so as to somewhat salvage the season.

At the end of the day even without injuries the attack has been woefully inadequate at times this season…

When you look at the job Kolo Muani is doing at Juventus (and I don’t even rate him) surely it had to be worth taking a chance on him?

Asensio looked good on his Villa debut with some nice tidy touches and slotted right in surely he was worth bringing in as a short term option.

Maybe Kvara was unobtainable but how do we know if we didn’t bother trying to test the waters? Nico Williams has a release clause just pay it and thrash out a deal with him.

I’m not sticking this on Arteta because I think he was basically begging the board in the press to do something.

He’s definitely guilty of not rotating enough and not adapting to play a less intense pressing game when players are fatigued but ultimately the board needed to be aggressive.

I guarantee that the club could have signed Vlahovic on loan if they pressed Juventus and offered to cover his wages (which is ultimately what they want to get off their books as Motta doesn’t rate him and his contract increased to the highest in the league this season).

There’s no valid excuses for doing fuck all this window. And as much as they want to cover it now, we had both our players and managers admit we’re really fucking short for weeks.

They better have a genuinely big move planned this summer because signing Sesko ain’t gonna cut it. Not only have they sacrificed our season but they sacrificed the wellbeing of our existing players too.

That Kolo Muani loan makes so much more sense than all the more sense it already made at the time.

Arteta is equally culpable, not having putting this squarely on the board

The way he’s managed the players is a joke and it was a tangible possibiltiy from before start of the season that injuries could be a factor.

Also the summer window the players we signed were never going to be enough and he advocated for Merino who is clearly not good enough to be starter, misuse of funds.

Rice may very well be next even if it happens next season.

£50m would have left us with one striker. Better than none though.

We were fucked without Saka but in a month we’ve gone from a credible chance in 4 tournaments to suddenly clinging to top 4 and hoping we avoid any big teams in the ECL and make as much money as we can out of it before the inevitable thrashing.

This is the worst injury crisis we’ve had in my lifetime. Just freak of nature stuff this season, certainly a lot of it self-inflicted.

We are 7 points ahead of 4th place Chelsea and play them at Emirates.
We are 9 points ahead of 5th place City and already played them home and away.
9 points ahead of 6th place Newcastle and play them at Emirates.

We should be fine.

I think we will be, I had just heard the news so was on a bit of downer. Gallows humour is taking over now.

Everyone is so emotional.
Other than the way he handles rotation, should we blame him for not getting us player(s) or should we blame the board/owner?
Also, talk about rotation, I think he did a good (if not great) job on Nwaneri and MLS.

Can he blamed for anything

Genuine question

And yeah people may be emotional because the season is in tatters, what do you expect

Now we need to overuse other players - the cycle continues… failure in summer… winter was always going to be hard/impossible, but big time fuck up by management here…

Can also quibble with Arteta use of him in minutes that were totally unnecessary/dumb…

Title chase over. Should keep top 4 easily though.

I blame his rotation, and too much passive tactics.
There were games we could be more attacking.

Other than that, if it was not him then it was not him.
No need to blame everything on him.

We possibly might not score another goal this season

Fair enough man

I just think he has some blame in the squad building too

It’s a failure from the whole management

What a shit show

We’ll get goals - he isn’t some WC striker… the issue is simply the depth is now stretched beyond ridiculous and we have to put … Trossard… up top?

means more minutes for Nwaneri i guess, which is a good thing… Martinelli and Trossard should be next with hammy injury…

WE KNEW ATTACK/STRIKER WAS ISSUE FROM BEGINNING OF SUMMER…
