Kai Havertz (29)

Was just thinking that before, don’t think anyone else in our front 5 players scores that.

Overall, so stoked for him, hopefully he pushes on from here.

he gives us another dimension.

it is difficult to see that when our front three and Ode are really sub par so far this season.

The joy knowing that, because it was Kai, his goal also pissed of a lot of rival fans - especially chavs.

True.

The crossing position, the back post run and even the angle of the finish bares some similarities to Trossard’s late equaliser against Chelsea

Kai speaks really well. Comes across very well. Hopefully the structure of the club, the support from Arteta and the players will help restore this guy to the player he was before he joined Chelsea.

He’s been shit, he got criticized and rightly so. He scored a great goal today and I hope it does good things for his confidence because the only thing that matters is the team banking the points.

I knew you’d be crying about it :joy:

I mean if crying means calling you out for somehow turning a last minute goal into a chance to talk shit about other Arsenal supporters, then yeah.

Let him enjoy the moment, he hasn’t had many of them with Havertz tbf lol

I mean if @Leper wants to make it all about himself and what an amazing supporter he is, then go right ahead. Maybe I just come from a different sporting culture. It’s pretty normal in North America to talk shit about your players online but support them in the stadium. Hell, some fanbases don’t even support their teams in the stadium.

I’ve enjoyed Havertz so far, I think he’s done well and today was a nice bonus

But enough about the New York Jets.

Good analysis from Statman Dave on Kai…natural finisher from the left side of the box like his goal today. Hopefully this is the start of something special.

I was thinking more about Philly fans!

Easy to say after the goal, but from the moment Kai came on we suddenly started finding space in attack, I was already thinking his cameo had been his best performance in an Arsenal shirt, taking on players and generally causing Brentford new problems. Absolutely chuffed that he won the points at the end.

Yeah agreed - even without the goal he changed the complexion of our attacking play. Some nice touches, movement and directness.

Really big moment from him. Hope he’s able to utilise this to kick on.

yeah. might be worth remembering this game next time we struggle to break down low sitting teams and he’s on the pitch seemily contributing sparsely, we looked out of ideas this entire game without him and with ƖdegĆ„rd + Saka + Jesus + Trossard + Martinelli on there, decidedly our best attacking players in isolation.

I think we’re just in a collective slump, and it is so good to get 3pts from games like these.

I like his current trend, slooowly getting better for us. Some ways to go still, but a goal from open play can only help.

Before the match I figured Arteta would start Havertz because he’s so tall and we could use him in both boxes.

We really struggled to break down their block yesterday and I would have expected Havertz to come on sooner than he did and definitely before Eddie (who I don’t think ever looks good as a sub and was particularly shit yesterday).

But we got the same performance from Havertz I think we saw in his cameo against City. It was what I thought we’d be seeing a lot of this season, him crashing the box as an extra attacker. It was a really good header too, went five-hole on the keeper.
