Kai Havertz (29)

The issue with Havertz is that he’s currently a very boring player with very few redeeming features which is disappointing considering his alleged talent and level of investment we made.

He’s a player who represents the worst aspects of the post WC2014 German talent pool. Harvertz is mechanical but not efficient, he has technique but he’s not a technician, on top of having zero flair he doesn’t have an ideal position other than being a bastardised F9/targetman who barely impacts the game, he’s not a self starter and lacks an iron will to win. Worse of all he as zero personality on or off the pitch

Sounds like a great player to have spent 65m on

must be my problem…

I am working in office today and just have quick look on everything

They must have realised that they monumentally fucked up signing him pretty quickly

But gotta try at least to make it work but I can’t see it because he has never been a consistently good player for three years in the PL

And like you say there are more than a few flaws in his game including the mental aspect which I had reservations about from the off

Kai isn’t cut out to play at the top level anymore, I think we just need to accept it as a collective. I have no idea what Arteta saw in him to bring him here… especially for that ridiculous fee. £35-40m max should’ve been his valuation… even that is too high for what he does.

The only way I can understand this transfer is that Arteta and the team mostly watched his Leverkusen videos and made the decision based on that.

Still a horribly wrong way to do it, but that’s the only way I can undestand it.

Or maybe Arteta made some money on the transfer, full on George Graham style. :kroenke:

That would be so stupid though, watch him toil for three years but yeah fire up those good ol Youtube vidoes

More likely they thought they could ‘fix’ him, don’t get why they were so sure he would be a hit though

Baffling to the extreme

Starting to get Ceballos flashbacks now. He’s not as bad as him but he plays so vanilla like him with nothing exceptional.

No X factor apart from xduels

Nahh, Ceballos actually was showing some really good ability on the ball and had some very good performances at times. Havertz isn’t even on that level.

I liked Ceballos’ Ouroboros technique . Spinning with the ball on his axis was his best trait

Ceballos started really well to be fair. Kai isn’t. He not influencing again Burnley and Sheff United at home for fuck sake. 2 goal contributions and one of those was a penalty.

Somebody needs to put a rocket up him because at the moment, we might as well put an academy player in his spot.

Each to their own, Ceballos was absolute trash. Those European horror shows from him.

Some people were confident he’d match Xhaka’s goal contributions from last season, I really hope that’s the case because then we have about another 15 goal contributions up our sleeve for the remainder of the season from him.

Havertz is crap :clinking_glasses:

So true.

Honestly, the hyperbole some come out with just to give a strange justification to their own agenda.

65m. Xhaka didn’t die for this.

Good lord, dude was playing against us in the KOs.

I thought he was ok, ever so slightly better again but still some way to go.

I think you guys focus too much on his lack of goal scoring, I don’t think that is his main task if you ask Arteta so you probably rate him on a different job description than Arteta has given him. Is my gyess anyways.

That said, you can tell he is lacking some conviction or whatever to pull the trigger when the opportunity presents itself, which is clearly one of the things he can improve on.

Going in the right direction but I expect more long term.
