Can’t say I know that much about him other than he seemed a decent finisher at City - can’t be worse than Gyokeres.

He’s a decent player, no doubt about it. I don’t think he’s that much better than any of our current strikers though.
Not sure I’d be comfortable with us spending something around 100m for him.
I guess something to keep an eye on is Atleti missing out on CL football next season.
Perhaps that opens up an opportunity to get him for cheaper.

That’s like all of these new gen apart from Haaland though.
I always felt he was at his best playing off Haaland at City rather than as the lone 9. He was a better De Bruyne replacement than Haaland replacement.
I’m hoping Liverpool continue on a downward trajectory so we can get Ekitike off them.
He’s the perfect striker for us.

Alvarez would be an absolute class signing. Not sure where we find space for him unless you have a couple of attackers leaving in the summer (Jesus, Trossard, Martinelli…?)
The striker market is just dire. I’m kind of wishy-washy on Alvarez but hard pressed to say who is both obtainable and better. I don’t see Liverpool moving on from Ekitike or Isak next summer. Haaland and Mbappe are obviously not options. United won’t give up on Sesko so soon, even if we wanted him.
Its not a solution for next year (and maybe not for a while) but this is one reason I think we should really look into turning Dowman into a striker, especially if he continues to grow and fill out physically.
His stats are shocking this season in the league for me personally.
I loved the idea of him before, and he’s probs a decent option to have - but again it seems like his level has dropped considerably on the scoring front.
Can’t see this happening. Especially not for €100 million.

Wouldn’t say no, but I would rather we were looking at kids with a high ceiling in this position while we have three 1st team strikers in the squad and all currently look like they’ll be here next season.

Yeah. I think he’d end up serving a similar role to what he did at City.
Striker, second striker or winger.
If he were to replace someone I’d imagine it be Jesus or he’d be direct upgrade on Trossard.
Alexis Alvarez. He’d be a revelation here. Can play across the front line.

As I’ve said in other threads, I am personally very happy with these links as he’s now at the top of my wishlist. I think he is the best available option on the market and could see him in our team. Sell Jesus and make Alvarez the top target for the summer!
