Hundred mil is lot. If we can pay hAlv.arezurrected transfer rumor always turns up this time of year, but this is one I could get on board with if it’s for a lesser amount.

If we can sign Alvarez for around 80m and sell Havertz, Jesus or both then it would be good business because they’re two of our highest paid players but are too unreliable to rely on.

The only problem with Alvarez is he’s short so not an ideal Havertz replacement as he’s not really an aerial threat but if Gyokeres sorts himself out, Arteta might see him and Alvarez as starting strikers either together or individually.

But Arteta does seem to rate Havertz so it’s likely he’ll stick with him and sell Jesus and Trossard or even Martinelli if a club makes us a silly offer.

Selling two forwards to bring in one doesn’t seem a good idea.

We have Gyokeres, Havertz and Jesus, as well as Merino who can also play there but Havertz and Jesus miss far too many games through injuries to be relied on and we’re not really missing either of them.

Also between them they’re on around 30m a season and we’re really not getting much back so Alvarez might be more of an asset than the pair of them.

Sounds very Arsenal 2008 to me.

Sell Jesus & Buy Alvarez + Sell Havertz & Buy Sesko = Me doing a…

sesko will never come here

Then you woke up

Alvarez in the summer and Sesko longer term! It’s the future @RockyMaivia…need to get with the programme

Never say never… remember, he was Artetas first choice.

You think Manu would sell him to us knowing that Arteta could turn him into a great player. Manu never sell to us….would never happen, they wouldn’t allow it.

Depends on how bad he flops there.. he might want out eventually. Wouldn’t be the first big bucks signing they would let go of in the last few years… they actually have a habit of doing just that.

On reflection, losing Jesus, Havertz and Martinelli to bring in just Alvarez would be silly. Only was round it would be to use Merino as third choice striker and have Nwaneri and Eze and serious wing options.

Alvarez would be top of the wish list though: hard working, high energy, great technique, capable of magic and wants to sink City.

Havertz and Jesus are two of our highest earners yet are rarely available and it’s not as we’ve missed them, so If Alvarez comes in and plays most games, he’s already better.

We should get around 60m, if we sell them and if Trossard goes, we’ll save around 40m a season in wages, so if Alvarez is 100m we’ll have enough to afford another attacking player as well.

It would be great to keep Trossard but it seems as if he’s leaving at the end of the season so keep Martinelli for depth in quality which means we’ll have attacking options of Gyokeres, Alvarez, Merino, Saka, Martinelli, Madueke, Eze and Dowman, which would be about the best quality attack in the PL.

Alvarez plus one would be brilliant. Still only two strikers if Havertz and Jesus go though and that would be dangerous for a team fighting on four fronts.

I agree, we’ve got Gyokeres and Merino so Alvarez and another attacking player who can play upfront would be ideal.

But I think Arteta will keep Havertz and, if we don’t buy Alvarez then he might keep Jesus as well and just go for a top quality LW.

Would only happen if Havertz setback rumours are true and he’s cooked.

But still we’d have Gyok, Jesus and Merino as options.

Why would we sell Jesus, Havertz and Martinelli and only replace with Alvarez?

We would be buying Alvarez as a replacement for one of Jesus or Havertz, most likely Jesus.

Martinelli and Jesus *
