Cesc’s dancing feet
Surreal news to wake up to this morning. First Spanish player for Arsenal, meant a lot for me as a young gooner. DEP sevillano.
Didn’t realise Jose was the first Spaniard to win the Premier League. Respect respect respect and condolences
Omg yes I noticed this! Did you also notice he was the one who made the official statement on the club too. I am hoping he doesn’t stay away, id love to see him on the board or some role like that. We all know the problems at the club were never his fault and like the gentleman he is he stood there and took the flack so he wasn’t looking disrespectful to anyone.
Thank you, Arsene!
Rest in peace, Jose xx

I’m sure many will be angry and knock Canizares here but he’s absolutely right. High speed driving at 120mph is reckless and is why Reyes has lost not just his own life, but the other 2 people in the car and tbf more lives could have been lost.
It’s senseless but when the tradegy is mentioned there needs to be the comment ‘this needs to be a lesson to all young men about the danger of misuing powerful cars’
The timing from Canizares is awful, though.
I get his point but it’s a stupid thing to highlight. I don’t think anyone thinks that the speed he was going at was anything but reckless, no need to highlight it a day after his death though.
I am in two minds.
Sure it’s disrespectful but it’s necessary to point this out to thousands of kids out there that no one is immune from the consequence of reckless driving, not even celebrities.
Sometimes making an example of a celebrity gets the point across
Was anyone under the impression that speeding was safe?
Coming out with this a day after the accident is practically like saying he got what he deserved.
Well not to be insensitive, but he kinda did.
He didn’t exactly die of natural causes, did he?
Ummm. Reyes?
Geez are you a robot trion…no feelings there? I agree that it is such a waste could be avoided but dont go to the press in that aggressive manner and spout it to the world a day after when family are mourning!
Personally I wouldn’t do that but I wouldn’t exactly stop that dude either.
I’m with Trion on this matter, if Reyes was going 120 mph that to me changes the dynamic significantly and places the other deaths at the hands of the driver. For me it’s no different than drunk driving even though one illegal action is far more stigmatised than the other.
Even when that passenger flight intentionally crashed into the Alps a few years back and we learnt it was because the pilot was depressed, there weren’t any Canizares-like articles afterwards.
Why do I just feel like Canizares wants to profit from this? Or that he had some sort of issue with Reyes while he was alive (still sounds weird to say that)
The thing is Reyes is being given a hero worship across the globe.
Sure he is a likeable dude and my first instinct when I heard the news was of sympathy & minute sadness, because death at such age is always sad.
But one other person died and another injured with serious burns.
If the reports are true, Reyes is directly responsible for a death & a serious injury, regardless if he was alive or dead.
Perhaps it is some configuration issue with us super rational ones, but with that kind of knowledge, the hero worship & tributes just rubs you the wrong way.
If Reyes was alive, he would have been convicted.
Nice article by Arseblog this morning
There is definitely an argument to be had imo, and I don’t think it is too heartless from @Trion or Canizares to wonder if he was going slower, would he not have had the crash.
Some may find it insensitive and some may find it justified
I agree i said above it is a waste of life if he was going at the speed limit he might have survived same with the others killed but at the same time there is a time and place for everything
Its insensitive on behalf of the family. Part of the tragedy for them now forever though is the fact he could of avoided it.
Its a self inflicted reckless death and needs to be the footnote on all discussion on this subject sadly.
