If we move for Hato, and I think it is a smart move, I think MLS and Hato both play at LB this season (in the same way Timber and White will both play at RB). This allows us to sell Zinchenko in the summer, and also replaces Tierney. I would expect Calafiori to play in rotation and backup for Gabriel and Kiwior as backup and rotation for Saliba. Essentially, this move completes our defence, maybe with the exception of Kiwior, who can play RCB, but is probably the only position where we could upgrade further, as there is probably a better backup option for Saliba out there (however this is not a priority for the summer, unless we sell Kiwior).
I think there is a chance that over the season, we see MLS start to play/transition into a midfield role, but can’t see him starting the season there. With the World Cup also, I hope he retains his role at LB. Plenty of games for them both across the season.

Like @The_Invincibles said, buying this gem of a player will effectively sort our defence out for the next few years. It’s a shame Frimpong isn’t a few years younger so he’d have a pathway to the 1st team, but he would be expensive now and would probably expect to be a starter.
