Jorginho

Maybe but I didn’t think Partey looked match ready still…given the away leg is next week, I’m not sure he is going to be sharp enough for that match - not to play a full match anyway. Personally, I think you put Rice at No.6 and Havertz at No.8. We go there and keep it tight. They got us on the counter tonight, and we are not going to be as open away, so we just need to make sure we take our chances when they come.

Shout for Trossard over Jesus at the nine then?

Nah Jesus has to start, his trickery is going to be key.

If the tie is on the line who do you trust to finish that chance?

Trossard doesn’t get todays chance without Jesus.

If you want though maybe play Trossard and put Jesus on the left, dump Martinelli who did nothing.

I didn’t say otherwise. In fact, I pitched for us to go back Havertz-Rice-Odegaard for the second leg.

Martinelli’s pace is key for us next week imo.

Trossard did earn a start against Villa though.

Hopefully Martinelli is better next week than today, basically a non entity today.

Don’t hate that

Should have stuck with my original opinion it seems :white:

Agree with this. It seemed strange Arteta went with him after Brighton at the weekend. Rice looks far more comfortable anchoring the midfield in Europe.

Not sure what’s up with Partey but it seems like he’s forgotten how to pass a ball since returning from injury. Jorginho is much better suited to playing against teams we have a bit of authority over, not against teams with counter attacking pace.

I did say he shouldn’t start this game. Now Partey didn’t exactly help me with his shit cameo but Jorginho after playing 90 mins at the weekend and lack of pace was never the right fit for this game.

Partey if he started would’ve been better I’m sure, more physicality against their midfield and wingers would’ve been useful. Or use the chance to put rice at 6 and Partey further forward, wouldn’t have minded that.

Against villa I’d start Jorginho but can he do 3 big games in a week now?

Errors leading to goals…

Ridiculous pass.

Awful sub from Arteta. Game is chaos and you bring on Jorginho who usually needs time to grow into a game.

Pretty much killed us with that sub.

Yeah, should have been brought on much earlier when you still had time to change the flow of the game.

We failed to score at home. Villa were stroking it around all through the second half. Blaming Jorginho is ridiculous.

I mean, he was the one that made the error for the second goal that killed the game?

It was a tough pass, he hit it pretty sluggishly, and worse of all Martinelli was visibly offside.

What a foggin finish that is btw

Can fuck off with the celebration though
