Technically that’s an every touch and not highlights and an immense performance
He’s going to be our KDB leaving Chelsea/Pogba leaving United moment isn’t he?

I didn’t think those highlights were jaw dropping. The defending and protection of space by Bordeaux was awful
Wasn’t Gnabry that moment?
Also, the sell-on clause is at 10%, so we should be getting 2.5m, not a bad deal.
It’s shocking we only put a 10% sell on clause. He went for about half market value. United have a 25% sell on for Zaha
Not if Lyon is going to be his ceiling.
HE’S 21, his ceiling is far from being decided and Lyon looks like an excellent move for him
In the same manner it’s to early to say he will be our De Bruyne or Pogba, no?
How does that work when we can’t actually buy him due to our window closing? Would Lyon be blocked from buying him and we then buy him in January? Strange scenario.
Think Lyon were clever about buying him after the English window closed. Means there’s no chance of us exercising that clause.
Couldn’t Arsenal still buy his rights back and not register him? Unlikely but I thought that was the way Barca got around their transfer ban when they signed Arda Turan.
I didn’t consider that - you’re right, there probably is a way of doing it that way. Agreeing everything in principal, and then registering him on 1 January 2020.
I guess I was coming from the angle that we weren’t ever considering JRA as an option this summer, and had made our transfer plans without him. Now the window is shut and we’ve done our business, we don’t have the squad capacity or finances to buy him. So gives a free run for Lyon to buy him. Presumably they waited until our window shut to increase the probability of getting him without competition from us. Been fucked over a little by our window closing so much earlier than everywhere else.
Yeah I figured that’s how we could do it. The windows are for registering players but deals can be agreed whenever provided it’s via the right channels.
Yeah Arsenal could hijack it if JRA would resign for us, which I can’t imagine he will right after leaving us…
The scenario of buyback works after a year or two when the original club comes in early and convinces the player they are part of plans… the ship has sailed. He is a Lyon player. Good luck to him.
If JRA has any say in his destination, he won’t come back to Arsenal.
Decent business
The sad thing is that it should have been us pocketing better money when sell JRA, Bennacer and Gnabry.
I’d say that’s around €100m worth of talent in the current market (€30m, €15m and €60m) and we managed to get accumulative let less than €10m for the 3 of them lol.
Not really as straight forward. For them to reach that price you have to give them time. We’ve had shitloads of talent in the team over the years but it’s hard giving them all the time required and show patience while trying to be competitive.
