I do like this approach. Emery is basically telling the club what he needs, while Wenger would have never said that.

Mustafi has been linked with Juventus and Serie A in general before so I guess whoever is involved with scouting in Italy rate him and his agency have good connections with clubs there.
Realistically itās a great move for him and he could come good for them as a back up for the time being and possibly a starter at some point.
Iāve seen worse(in our case unrealiable and at times braindead) players go to Italy and learn the basics of composure and awareness.
I honestly think Mustafi is a solid player, he just has those really dumb ass brain farts that always end up costing us. I think with a manager who is more interested in coaching the defense you might be able to coach that out of him.
Selling Mustafi to Juventus and getting Benatia would one of the best deal ever :mustafi:.

Exactly. Iāve heard stories that Skriniar couldnāt stop making mistakes till he stepped foot on Italian soil. Koulibaly too. Look how they turned up after being trained/coached well.
I thought Mustafi and Xhaka would become decent players after Wenger left because both of them were very good players at their previous clubs.
So they clearly have got what it takes to be good players, but either playing in the PL or our lack of defensive coaching, which is more likely, is making them look inadequate.
Although the frequency of their mistakes could make people think otherwise.

Mustafi wasnāt very good at Valencia. I never watched him play but the very first post in his rumour thread back in July 2016 @SRCJJ calls it absolutely spot on haha

Haha I said he was barely an upgrade on Gabriel (amongst many other things) and I was right in hindsight. We all get them wrong sometimes but I think with Mustafi I always knew Iād be right. Heās just not cut out for English football
