I think its twofold firstly he has become a bit brittle and frequently seems to be carrying a knock or injury and secondly he isn’t that robust, it’s not a given that he can play an intense pressing game that almost all top coaches require from their players as standard.
Isn’t a question of quality because he is undoubtedly better than the likes of Mount, if Maddison was someone known to be able to run and press all day IMO he’d have a significantly bigger market.
I suppose if he performs then the anti spurs stuff in the past will quickly be forgotten. An injury riddled spell on the other hand and they’ll be on his back
I feel for him. He must have thought he’d done enough to get a proper big club show an interest in him. Spurs were probably the last club he wanted to end up at.
I think he, himself, was part of the problem here, Sunny. His inadequate performances with Leicester was a key reason behind them actually going down. Crunch home games against Bournemouth and Everton prove that, let alone the below par performances in most of the other games.
