Yeah, if we’re talking bigger clubs, then Arsenal are still a bigger club than Chelsea and Man City.
Yep and as time passes the pull wanes further, it’s not so cut and dry as years gone by.
I mean you’re not wrong but actually Liverpool amended their mistakes much quicker, and in some ways they didn’t change their policy that much. Henderson and Wijnaldum have brought them their recent success and a lot of people turn their nose up at those two.
I don’t think anyone is overly hyped about White but on paper it’s not a bad deal, and Maddison would be excellent.
Yes Leceister right now are better but we could absolutely steal away their star maestro because we’re better for his future. Vardy made a great call for his age and personal legacy but Maddison would be a moron to set the Foxes as his absolute ceiling at 24 years of age.
Absolutely not, I’m actually thinking towards the future when I make this statement. The smart money backs Arsenal to outperform Leceister over the course of the next decade. Leceister are in a purple patch and we’re in a rut but economically we are giants compared to them. This isn’t from a place of arrogance or foreboding hubris it’s just what we are as a club, the power we wield as a marketing tool and our prestigious history across the globe.
It’s absolutely fun to shit on us right now but people need to realize we aren’t just Arteta, Xhaka, Kroenke, Wenger or even the Invincibles. Not only will Leceister never have the ability to replicate our past they don’t even have the capacity to walk towards our future.
They do have better gravy than us though. You have to concede that.
I feel like I’m really oblivious to something here but I don’t know what you mean? I’m more of a Bushmill’s sauce man myself.
Had to google that. Is it smokey?
Lmao I do remember that but you were asking a lot of me without a visual aid.
@Joshua it’s a sauce that’s very similar to peppercorn but much nicer, it’s made using a famous whiskey from here from the Old Bushmill’s distillery just off the Giant’s Causeway.
It’s natural you would have never heard of the sauce but I know that Bushmill’s whiskey is actually really big in the States and certain parts of North America as you lot love anything traditionally Irish. It’s good stuff tbf, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Yeah you’d still expect Arsenal to out perform Leicester in the next decade, still spend more money, higher wage Bill and more resources. At some point better results should come into fruition.
Exactly, not that I enjoy it but we have the capacity and the infrastructure to keep getting it wrong. The truth is, if Leceister were to have the last few seasons of incompetence we have had, they’d probably be relegated by now.
Also I’d easily bet they get relegated before they win their next league title.
They were only really negligibly better than us last year despite our disaster fall, five points ahead but only two better goal differential and one more expected point by xg.
Regardless of what happens with Maddison, I would definitely bet on us finishing ahead of them this year if offered even odds.
Our season started after Christmas as well.
The chapped lips man is a bigger fraud than Mi Mikel.
If we wanted Maddison, we could easily get him.
An hour and a half up the M1 from Colney, tell Leicester we’re taking him, slap £60M down. On the way back, stop at the Watford Gap services for a cheeky Burger King, get back to Colney, make an outrageous unveiling video, take photos of him holding the Arsenal shirt in his stupid tight, ankle high tweed chinos, buy the house in Hadley, easy.
You seen the roadworks up there?
Even Royalty couldn’t do it in an hour and a half.
We’ll use one of Auba’s shiny cars.
Nice plan, but pretty sure there isn’t a Burger King at the Watford Gap services…
I’m sure the southbound side there is? McDonald’s is on the northbound side iirc?
Edit: I think you’re right, maybe it was the services before or shortly after. Not far off though.
Marks n Spencer at Toddington will have to do
People eat at Marks and Spencers? I just thought it’s where you’d go for clothes.
Or is it an Ikea meatball situation?
Marks and Spencer is also a supermarket. And the bigger stores have cafes. I used to get chicken and sweet potato fries for lunch from there every now and then, it was delish!
