James Maddison

I love ESR but I don’t think we should be going into next season expecting him to start every game, same issue with Saka and Pepe. I absolutely think we could and should buy both Aouar and Maddison but that would be way to ambition for our club.

We could line up loads of different ways as Maddison can play on the left from time to time although I prefer him central.

Are we actively doing anything at the moment?

Losing to Hibs pre season and putting the blame on them for having a defensive set up.

No Maddison no party, Arteta out

We still have Partey to be fair

Arteta in?

But no partey partner which means it’s just a partey for one which is sad.

I just can’t fathom the club making two 50m plus signings in one window.

Be a fucking idiot to step down to Arsenal.

That’s basically what the Leicester fans are saying online. Kind of hard to argue based on last season.

Nah.

Arsenal is still a huge club with a global fan base. Even competitively Leicester aren’t even far ahead of us

And the season before that…

Anyone who thinks that Leicester are in anyway comparable to a club like Arsenal needs their head examined. Objectively, fan bias aside, it’s just a poor argument and I know where I would rather be as a player.

It’s an archaic way of thinking, this.

Football is all about the here and now. The way Leicester are managed, from the way they buy and sell to the way they play is better than Arsenal.

The proof is in the pudding based on the way Leicester won a trophy last season.

We’re the bigger club, but not the better club right now.

I empathize with this argument but it just reminds me when I used to clown Liverpool fans were saying they were a big club while fielding guys like Jay Spearing and Charlie Adam.

They were still a big club then though they just weren’t recently successful, I don’t think anyone is saying otherwise in regard to the argument that Arsenal are historically, financially and globally a larger club than Leicester.

Also in this strange hypothetical who are Spearing and Adam in this situation? Maddison? Partey? Or are you meaning Xhenelny? Cause it’s clear we all know that we need to move on from shitters like that.

If you want to have a conversation about whether Leicester have a much better starting 11 than us man for man then that’s a completely different argument and something I’ve been preaching for the last few years. Our starting 11 is completely bloated and horseshit and for some reason fans would quicker say Leicester are a more successful club than Arsenal rather than admit they simply have better players.

Sorry to add that extra part while you’re replying btw.

Oh totally, historically Arsenal are bigger.

And yeah Xhaka and Willian are Spearing and Adams. Liverpool had an extended Banter Era™️ when their supporters were getting super hyped over Carrol, Downing, Adams and etc…feels a little like Arsenal fans getting hyped over Ben White :laca2:
