Jack Grealish

Villa fans are mental surely you take the £100 million and run. Cunts don’t even understand, we lost generational talents like Cesc and Rvp for a combined £40 odd million.

Now a days you get a full career out of talented players like Hazard and Kane and then sell them for £100m when they’re dead on their feet and one bad season away from being washed up

Early modern Emirates era was fantastic -persist with talent development for years then the minute they’re producing out on the pitch we sell them for peanuts in their prime. Fuck.

Although you’re right, perhaps Aston Villa looked at the top quality players we sold on the cheap and thought they wouldn’t make the same mistake.

I mean is £100m even close to being on the cheap? You get too greedy in these types of deals and you can over extend, if City walk away there will be other suitors but probably no one willing to spend that.

It’s about the delusion of working their way to big club status though.

That’s what they think was kick started by signing Martinez, Watkins and then Buendia. They don’t want the money, they’d rather chase the dream.

Unfortunately for them reality has a funny way of giving you a swift kick in the nuts.

They look more like the Galatico than Real now

I love Grealish but realistically he has had only one really high level season and he is about to turn 26 so not old but not really young either. Turning down 100m for him would be insane on Villa’s part.

It was so far fetched might as well have wished we sign Messi.

Yea, that’d be fine too :man_shrugging:

If it takes 50m to get White, 100m for Grealish makes all kinds of sense.
This is the market value.

I would say, City could pay a bit less but I guess they want to close down the transaction sooner, so just overpay a bit and made Villa couldn’t resist.

Yeah, I’m kinda having a similar sentiment.

An absolutely brilliant player, but he’s going into a very… dynamic? environment… Mahrez was a baller of a roughly similar kind, and he’s just a squad player now… Bernardo was one of their best players one season, the next he’s nowhere… Sterling, Sane…

Just too much competition in those positions, he won’t have too much room to make errors… And even he performs well that wont guarantee anything, that’s the issue.

An absolute crime if he becomes just a rotational player and for the sake of football in general I’m hoping that wont happen.

Mahrez has established himself as first choice and plays the majority of games including the big ones now. Bernado had that one amazing season and dropped off to a degree hence not being nailed on first choice now.

Grealish will be fine if he signs for City, it’s Sterling that should worry and is starting to look like the odd man out.

Mahrez is a bit older and plays both of Saka and Pepe’s position so that he wouldn’t make a lot of sense to be a target but I’d be over the moon with Sterling or Bernardo. The biggest obstacle would be if they’re willing to play for us.

Sterling’s definitely the odd man out, plays left more often than not so you’d imagine he’s the one on the way out. I’d absolutely try and go in for him if it was possible, we’re desperate for a natural left winger.

How much he is going to cost us?
Not too much, but is way too much.

As of a winger… I really haven’t seen a true, natural winger that could go deep and make accurate and precise crossing. All I see these days are wingers that love to cut in and shoot.

Pepe and Saka have had very good performances from the left. Same for Martinelli. Even ESR has had a good performances there.

If we are signing Sterling then surely it’s a similar scenario as with White and Saliba.
Who’s the odd one out? Martinelli or Pepe?

Pepe already prefers the right and I still believe he’s best out there, it’s a bit of a predicament between him and Saka as they both look better out right but they are good enough players that they can play well on the left.

Martinelli already seems like he’s out in the cold honestly wouldn’t surprise me if you see him go out on loan because I really feel like the lad needs to play some football this year.

Imagine a midfield creativity trio of KDB, Grealish and Foden…… be so easy on the eye.

Southgate could trun that into the most inane and boring minefield you could imagine. Pep on the other hand…

It’s a shame the big boys just “mop up” this sort of talent, if you will.

I know it’s been going on for years but it’s not in the spirit of competition and it doesn’t engender a challenge.

Grealish has been there for the taking for years but noones bit the bullet. 6 years ago he wouldn’t have cost 100m. City now pay the premium and villa get alot richer to invest into the squad.
