Ivan Toney

Toney scored 14 goals excluding penalties last season

He’s a good player with a well rounded game, probably being overrated to a degree recently.

Haven’t liked what I’ve seen regarding his character lately but he’d be a good player for us from a pure football perspective, I’d rather shoot for moon for the likes of Osimhen though

@sevchenko was probably the first to rate Toney back when he was in the Championship. Maybe Phoebs was on his trail too. Thoughts…would you sign him?

I was as well. :eyes:

And the answer for me is yes but I don’t think the rumours are that genuine. Unless there’s more concrete talk, I feel Toney’s new agency is trying to force a move in January.

I’m fairly confident he’ll be at Chelsea in January.

You mean getting caught gambling or some of his comments after the fact?

Probably both.

That and then there was a couple of tik tok incidents where he had to come out and apologise to the club and fans.

The guy is just a bit of an idiot with questionable judgement/decision making off the pitch.

He’s established himself as best off the ball CF in Europe, I’d take him for sure.

£60m is a huge outlay though, I’d rather go nuclear on Isak or Ferguson

Isak?

There’s no way he’s an option lol

@Joshua : yeah that interview wasn’t a good look.

60m on Toney in January or trying to outbid Chelsea for Ferguson? They might legitimately demand 200m for the guy.

I think he is a good player but I wouldn’t put him in a list of elite strikers. I also think we have a similar player in Nketiah, just not as prolific atm. We have the basis of an excellent squad so we now just need to add exceptional players to the squad. We need an elite level striker.

I’d go Toney to be honest.dt Ferguson develop for a couple of seasons.

If it’s a choice between Toney and Ferguson…I’d go for Ferguson.

I have nothing to back this up with whatsoever other than a feeling i have about him…

I am not sure he will fit into a bigger club all that well amd i think whoever spends the money on him may well regret it.

Disclaimer. I made similar predictions about Grealish and was obviously wrong there after his last 2 seasons.

We’d be looking at £120m for Ferguson. Big risk, might not work out. But if he joins and does well, we could be sorted for 5-10 years in that department.

In my view, it took us 15 years to replace Vieira, with Partey and it’s only really in the last 12-18 months that he’s shone through.

So if we have the chance to get him, I think we should pull the trigger. Could be the next Rooney.

I think Brighton might even be looking at crazier money than 120mil for Ferguson, unfortunately

That’s true! Probably looking at £150 judging by current markets

Meh, Grealish at City looking like a player worth 100m to you, even last season?
I don’t think so. I get the vibe Doku will keep his place in the team over him as well.

I think unless youre Haaland or Bellingham its very hard to look like a 100m player but i actually thought he’d be a flop and you cant accuse him of that at all.

All the Arsenal ‘trusted’ ITKs are talking about it. This transfer seems highly probable. Just need to wait for Ornstein to confirm our interest.

Toney has a huge aerial presence, so I looked at the amount of headers he’s scored in the Premier League over two seasons…4. Jesus scored the same amount of headers last seasons.
