He let cucerella and Caicedo set the standard early on for a scrappy game by allowing them to get away with what he did. He then showed ours instant yellows when we did likewise.

Terrible performance, seemed drunk, stoned or both. Running into blind spots so he didnât have a clear view of challenges, he fixated too much on where the ball was and missed loads of challenges then panicked and over-reacted to some pretty tame tackling.
One of the biggest skills a referee needs is preempting where the play is going and making sure you get into a good position.
He missed what turned out to be a red card. Chelsea can feel aggrieved at his general performance but so can Arsenal. One of those rare days when I was pleased we had VAR.

Noticed the injury time was suspiciously low today, especially the first half when we seemed to have two long stoppages

Did this get checked during the match? I canât really tell from this angle whether Enzo is ahead of the ball. He definitely seems ahead of all Arsenal defenders except Raya.
If heâs offside then I do think it probably shouldnât have counted. He clearly impedes Mosquera from making a play to keep the ball out.

Thereâs no real Caicedo/Rice debate for me. Any player who uses that level of uncontrolled physicality as part of their game isnât all that great.

This type of stuff gets my blood boiling, yesterday during the game but also watching it back now. It makes it all the more weird that we ended up with so many bookings. All those barges off the ball and Taylor just shaking his head.
