I suppose theyâd argue that he hasnât delayed the restart there as nobody was about to take the free kick when he rolls the ball away?!
But then couldnât the same argument pretty much be applied to Trossardâs second yellow?
I do try to find logic in their decisions but none of it really holds up to much scrutiny.

This made complete sense to me.
Because that explanation had common sense in it and wasnât a robotic-run-it-by-letter-of-the-law interpretation.
Something that should have been used in Rice & Trossard explanation as well.
