Matty Cash is such a dirty player but the elbow on Eddie from Carlos is insane. How that wasnât a red is beyond me.
Waste of time this thread, we just know the officials in this league are diabolical.
Oh 100% they donât like us and they donât like arteta and it does affect the way they ref
Another horrific refereeing display.
In other news, bears shit in the woods
I canât blame the refs today, do your own job first.
The many sitters we missed is why we lost.
The âclear and obvious errorâ has to go.
VAR should be making the right decision; instead, we want to make the onfield ref at the star of the show, and VAR canât overrule & suggest a different decision made by the ref because they have to find if there is a clear and obvious error made by the ref.
If the ref had given the goal, VAR would have stuck with that decision.
I tend to agree with Calum. Donât concede a sloppy goal, get your shots on target and donât give the referees the opportunity to become the talking point.
We werenât good enough to win at Villa or Newcastle. We need to take control of matches away from the officials with more emphatic performances, especially on the road.
Would say Im surprised but hes likely not the only one, just he was honest on his formâŚ
Everyone is sick to death of the state of refereeing. There should be some solidarity from managers in criticising refs. I mean not only should losing managers state their criticisms, but also winning managers coming on post-game interviews and saying things like âWe got lucky there, the ref missed our handball.â You know, a concerted effort from both sides to show these fuckers up and how incompetent they really are. Would that be too much to ask?
Devilâs advocate here.
How would it solve our refereeing issues, though?
I bet we would all love it when everyone comes in solidarity to criticise the referees in public, but it wonât improve the standards.
Public drama doesnât help anyone. These clubs also veto the VAR changes yearly without any constructive input. They should come in solidarity to hire an independent team to improve VAR standards using their own money and submit it to FA & PGMOL.
PL, FA or PGMOL do not desire to do this alone. 2023 comes with AI technology, and we canât determine whether Willock had the ball in.
The news of clubs doing PLâs work will embarrass them well enough to get their act together.
I donât know if or how it would solve anything. Iâm just sick of not a week going by without some major fuck up by onfield and VAR refs. At this point anything is worth a try.
Itâs a combination of both, yes we should have finished better and held up our end of the bargain.
But that doesnât mean ref incompetence should be accepted, ultimately the Havertz goal should have stood or a penalty been awarded, no way known was the Havertz handball more substantial than the previous cash one.
Carlos probably should have seen red.
Luiz was fortunate not to have seen a penalty given against him.
Despite our misses we take at least a point of the officials are competent.
Absolutely you want to use technology fuck this clear and obvious shit. Just use it to get the most just outcome.
You donât want to use it for that, Iâd rather just live with live error, at least that way you donât feel like itâs as manipulated.
Basically @Trion if Gillett didnât have the best eye sight known to human kind our goal stands on Saturday evening.
Well youâd think, maybe VAR decides itâs clear and obvious in the event arsenal scored I dunno.
Itâs just incompetency.
There are many specialized consultation groups that can come up with simple and implementable rules that would make VAR a great addition to the sport. However, these outdated fucks insist on implementing the most ridiculous rules that only create more problems.
I have held the opinion from the start that referees have a vested interest in sabotaging VAR, as they are afraid of losing their importance in the game.
I think you have actually âheldâ that one because in all our conversations about VAR i canât remember you saying this before. ![]()
It doesnât add up for me though. It gives more of them work and they are never going to be in control of the decision on using VAR or not anyway. There is no way the PL ever backs away from VAR so deliberate incompetence to try enforce that decision is just a terrible idea.
They actually are just this shit.
Fuck that the two of us could do it.
