Always think these things are very subjective. Tbf I do both but I couldnt totally agree with it. Its like the swimming claim that you use every muscle in your body thing. Michael Phelps might, but Joe soap doing six lengths in an hour on and off probably doesnt.

That’s true as well, it definitely boils down to physiology and individual’s bodies.

Like I just can’t run, my knees and hips just can’t handle it, it’s abject misery for me, but skipping I can just go all day long and I can really challenge myself and push it. Just not the case for me on running.

So there’s definitely an element of “to each their own”, physically.

Similar here, same with lifting I can do that for a couple hours no issue, going running no thank you!

And skating also I can manage for a decent length of time, even with a lot of sprints within that.

Like any sport their is technic behind running that you can learn though.

What a difference in technique… Incredible he managed to lift 300kg in 2009 with that absolutely horrible form.

Can’t believe his form is so much better while pulling 201kg more hahaha

He wouldn’t be able to pull 501 if he didn’t improve his form in the meantime

Oh yeah for sure! But a 201kg increase is still nuts.

I wonder what his diet looks like!

Tbf you get to a certain age it’s very difficult to adjust running techniques.

There’s plenty of videos on that on YT…
I was watching one the other day… what struck me, besides all the food he eats, were all those pills and supplemens for every possible organ in the body… Idk, I don’t like too many pills…
Let’s see if I can find it…

This is it. 4:55 the pills part.

Pretty sure I read somewhere during the filming of GoT, that he had a clause in his contract that he has to be able to eat a meal every two hours lol.

I love watching those videos above though^ gives you an insight into the insane amount of food those guys need to fuel themselves. His legs are fucking huge!

Not discrediting him whatsoever as that is absolutely incredible strength, but look at the size difference also, that’s Hollywood level steds for you. Yes I’m jealous.

He didn’t even use his legs for keeping the weight momentarily like in his 301 lift.
Don’t get the obsession of weight lifting but Respect.

Wow that’s nuts. That does not seem like a healthy lifestyle haha

I worry that he’ll end up being another Andre The Giant.

Also is it just me or does his breathing sound quite laboured a lot of the time?!

@Gio - what kind of cycle do you think he’s on? I’d love to know what roid program he’s on to have gotten this massive and this strong,

Yep, definitely. It’s a big burden on his heart and other organs to keep everything going. He’ll have to lose a lot of weight when he quits strongman, I hope he won’t get serious problems in the meantime. It’s avery risky lifestyle.

I won’t profess to be an expert about any of it, I’ve not researched enough to know what to do and when - it’s a slippery slope that as a slim guy I might fall prey to. I don’t think anyone on here except @SRCJJ would know going by his size. Not an accusation of course, I mean it is (so you;re complimented) but it’s not (so you’re not offended).

For me there’s nothing extraordinary when you compare him in 2009 and now considering he was at the start of his strongman career there, and considering all the work he did in those years, all the competitions, all the food, all the weight… of course he grew. We’re talking about a 10 years period.

But when you look at his body transformation video, for me the only period that is definitely suspicious (in terms of possible steroud use) is between his 17 and 19 years of age (although you can’t be totally sure of the age here, when I look on wikipeda he ended his basketball career when he was 20). Although many people naturally bulk up in that period, and he just switched from a sport like basketball to strongman at that time so that also played a big part.

Still, all things considered, I think he’s far from being compared to Hoolywood actors who put crazy amounts of muscle in a matter of months out of nothing.

No offence taken mate, I’ve got a seriously dense knowledge of steroids and I’ve always been open to the fact that I’d take it one day (although admittedly not until I feel like I’ve hit a plateau and I’m far from that).

@Cristo I think he’s probably be on Test Enanthate (which is a long Esther Testosterone and the foundation of all good steroid cycles) and some traditional muscle building and strength building compounds like Deca and an oral like Dbol or Anadrol.

No doubt he’s juiced to the eyelids though. You combine the steroids (which he’s admitted to taking) with the diet, the genetics and the work ethic and you get one of the strongest men to ever live.

Wait what, you’re full natty brother? :flushed:

Yeah bro. I’ve always toyed with the idea of taking gear and I know I will 100% one day but right now I’m not even close to hitting a plateau or anything like that.

I feel like I’m still capable of gaining muscle naturally. But that’s why I hired a coach because I know being a natty means your diet and supplement game has to be even more on point.

I believe in the basics first and then when I’m ready in the next few years I’ll probably end up cycling.
