Harry Kane

I see the Harry Kane, Bayern & Spurs convo no different to the Declan Rice, Arsenal & West Ham conversation.

The pressure is undoubtedly 3 x higher at the club where you’re expected to deliver with no excuses. Same with Grealish @ City & Villa. You’re replaced within 2 years if you don’t perform.

Now that I think about JG, he could get replaced next season if he fails to shine yet again this season.

Kane is Lewandowsi’ successor albeit two seasons late. He has HUGE shoes to fill. Lewandowski was instrumental in Bayern winning the Champions League and should have won the Balon D’or. The pressure will be on Kane to do similar.

Such a massive rort. We could play games behind closed doors to satisfy TV contracts but couldn’t hold an awards ceremony so Lewa could get his deserved Ballon D’or.

I wonder if he would have also named his son Henry if he had still been at Spurs.

Should have called him Heinrich now he’s in Germany

If it had been a girl she could have been called Pen, which is beautiful name as well as being a description of most of the goals he scored. :grinning:

See the imagery a lot but what’s the link between Bayern and alcohol? Is it something all German clubs do? @ronniec

Have you never heard of Oktoberfest?

I believe Munich has the largest Aktoberfest in the world… and it is the biggest (beer/alcohol) event in Germany.

On the bucket list :joy:

more like Septemberfest

Of course! Is that why they use these images a lot then?

I don’t even drink and I love Oktoberfest. Been to Berlin a couple of times, and Munich.

Then a month later all the Christmas markets start up, which is even better.

more like a carnival, than just a beer festival

I remember trying to book an Oktoberfest weekend back in April a few years ago and it was impossible to find accommodation.

I’d imagine so! Beer is a big part of the cultural image in Munich

Bavaria is the beer capital of Germany. There are breweries everywhere.

They still have some of the old monasteries running, which have been making beer for centuries.

But do they serve it warm?

I usually book about 6 months in advance and get somewhere quiet near the “English Park”, which has a fantastic beer garden that’s open every day during the festival.

It’s an absolutely amazing experience, some of the party tents late at night are like being on acid on stage with a Bavarian touring dance show. I have photos of group hugs, dancing, raising steins all of them are blurry and the only person I know in them is me.
