General News

Females know what they are getting into before joining the police force. Getting a slap or violently threatened/abused is just the nature of the job.

Not excusing what has happened above (in the news story).

In my experience that’s not the case. My security team for the festival I ran was headed-up by two females both were built like brick shit houses, both no-nonsense lesbians both of which worked in Chelmsford Prison. I’ve seen them drag large blokes away from punch-ups and wrestle them to the ground. I saw one get punched and contrary to some people’s views here, she didn’t start crying, she got him in an arm lock and marched him over to the police, his feet were dragging on the ground. You could see the humiliation in his face. There are some incredibly hard women out there and they don’t take any shit. Well here in Essex anyway.

It’s also really useful to have a mix of genders in a security team. People react differently to different genders, it’s good to have a variety of talents in your team.

I also hung-out with some friends at Colchester Women’s Rugby Club, those girls were really fucking tough, I used to go clubbing with them, I’ve seen one get touched up by a bloke who found himself neutralized and needing an ambulance.

My wife and her bestie do boxing training every week, my wife can not only handle herself but her strength is amazing for her seemingly slight 5ft 7in frame. Any fella picking on her is in for a hilarious and emasculating battering.

I’ve also refereed women’s football matches and I can tell you, when it kicks off there’s none of that pathetic head-to-head posturing you get in the mens’ game, it’s real fights. Despite being small and not very hard, I can usually break up a fight in a mens game but I’m not getting in the middle of a women’s fight, ever.

It’s such a generalization to say that men are superior and stronger than women. Maybe there are more men who are stronger than women but that doesn’t mean women can’t be as strong, if not stronger.

And you countered this by talking about two females of all the females you encountered in your life.
How is referring to these two security officers who were built as brickhouse - an argument against BergkampsLoveChild’s post about the need for size requirement while recruiting female officers?

It’s not speculation in terms of physical strength. On average, men are significantly stronger. You can pick isolated examples where that may not be the case, but it is accurate generally.

My mrs also does boxing, and is noticeably more skilled than me at it but if I actually use even close to 100% force, it’s not a fair contest.

And for the record, I actually have no issues with having female cops. There is definitely a place for them due to the diverse range of work the police actually cover but it’s unsafe to not make the consideration that men are stronger than women.

It’s a very very valid generalisation. Like was said above, you may be able to find examples of women who have decent strength but even the most skilled female fighters in the world would get rag dolled by a lot of men.

I don’t think I’ve seen a woman on God’s earth that I’d think could in any way, shape or form manhandle me and I’m not even close to being the strongest male that I know.

I’m pro-female security and police officers because it’s absolutely necessary but on the point about women and their strength levels compared to men - it’s not even close.

There are already certain criteria regarding fitness and medical past history for the public services such as police/fire.

I was denied access to the RAF on medical grounds (epilepsy as a baby) as a 16 year old. I see certain size requirements for a job that at some point will require you to face assault as no different to that.

Either that or we’re not training our officers adequately enough in how to deal with situations like this which also shows by the other guy kicking the restrained guy in the head.

No one has said women are stronger

Jamaica has women as a staple in it’s police force for over 70 years. Yet I couldn’t really see one crying like that. I think this is just a case of expectations and real experience. She’s never been hurt like that before.

Although… personally I would say the average Jamaican woman is tough as nails (if you know, you know)

I’m not arguing against a size or fitness requirement for both genders for certain jobs. I accept as a disabled person that there are jobs that are totally unsuitable for me. People who are colourblind shouldn’t have driving jobs.

That’s just common sense.

Over my half decade on planet earth I’ve encountered a form of insecurity that manifests itself as misogyny.
If any of you met someone like that I’d hope you’d call it out and suggest they need therapy.

Sure but when this come at the expense of reality, it becomes a bit of an insult to everyone’s intelligence.

I’m sorry but it’s a very easy generalisation to make backed up by evidence.

Yes a women BJJ black belt will be better than an untrained man however a male BJJ black belt will win out 9/10 times.

But I deffo get @Bavin and @SRCJJ point that there is absolutely a place for women and many situations they will be able to handle better.

I will rephrase. Maybe having a woman police officer front line Vs aggressive males and then antagonising said male by punching him was not a good call.

Another day another plane crash ffs

We’re in the era of global armed conflict

What a stupid law this new thing is.

Get rid.

Fucking hell labour are so stupid and shit.

The EU can’t help but he America’s bitches in everything.

Ursula Von Der Leyen, a terrible term so far it must be said.

Not sure what else they were expecting tbh.

Even though I’m not impressed about how he went about it. Is it safe to say Trump’s tariff policy is bearing fruit?

Maybe against the EU and UK for sure.

Against China I think not so much but I am not an expert.

It just seems like he could have won doing it either way.

These days might is right.

If we are going to live in a police state we might as well move to China as at least the infrastructure will be decent.
