The “difficult choice” to attack disabled children’s rights isn’t far away.
That last paragraph is brutal.
I don’t necessarily disagree.
But for all of us working in healthcare in the UK, the NHS is the only game in town.
What would you propose we do?
Kill it dead? I am not against that anymore
What do you envisage replacing it?
American style wealthcare where you’ll be charged 1000x for headache medicine. Expect to get random bills for things you thought your insurance covers and then have to litigate between the healthcare provider and the insurance company.
Have fun!
The whole India Pakistan conflict made me aware of Balochistan & Sindhudesh separatism protests.
That’s so fucking funny after all these years of Pakistan claiming Kashmir is mistreated by India.
I think we’ve had versions of this conversation before.
And my response is usually that patient safety is absolutely nowhere near the top of the list of priorities of NHS staff.
For example in nursing and junior doctor strikes, patient safety was wheeled out as a window dressing demand and disappeared pretty quickly when suitable pay offers were forthcoming.
I’d have more sympathy for NHS workers if they were prepared to take a sincere stand on patient safety rather than using it to accentuate a “woe is us” narrative. When things are so unsafe, the people who prop the system up by working in unacceptable conditions are culpable for those conditions.
Something much worse I expect no doubt
That’s fine but I am still curious where do you want these staff to work?
So you’re not against killing the NHS dead, and when I ask what you think would replace it, you say something worse.
Help me out here, I must be missing something mate lol
Bro I am too fried to care anymore.
I used to care because of the likely outcome.
But the NHS is so bad as an employer. That I just don’t care if it does anymore.
There is a chance it could be a better system to replace the NHS - but our leaders and their boomer love mean in all likelihood it will be terrible. Like the trains or royal mail.
But I just don’t care anymore.
Personally I live in hope that the NHS is going to get better and back where it needs to be. Same goes for the train network. The Government have a clear plan in place to bring all of this back into public ownership which is exactly where it should be. You have to have a degree of patience!
And by the time they get close, government will flip back to blue and will be sold to china
I want them to work in a system they’ve exerted massive pressure on to operate safely, as opposed to no serious pressure
But beyond that, the point of a medical system is not for people to have a job, it’s for people to receive treatment and care.
Tbf I feel conditions are slightly better than 2022/23 which was the peak of badness
This actually gets worse if you read the story.
Absolutely unfit to be cops
Yeah that was so fucking dumb. People went so fucking OTT over that programme lol
This woman just said the show is fictional not a documentary and the presenter went on to call the shown a documentary, unbelievable Jeff
I had a fellow parent of a SEN child tell me they thought Britain was the best country in the world for the disabled. Here is just one example of why I strongly doubt that.
And even if Britain were the best country in the world for the disabled, it doesn’t make it a good country to be disabled in.
Let’s say that is true… the world is a far grimmer place for disabled people than I could have ever imagined.
