I do not have much reference but I can tell you that the UK is light years better for a disabled person than South Africa! (not saying UK is great btw)
My girlfriend lives in a block of flats in Shepherd’s Bush. They’re no more than 6/7 years old and the lifts are routinely out of service and the building management company (who collect exceptional amounts of money in service charge and all that nonsense) take an age to fix them.
Similar story there where elderly and disabled residents were home bound for nearly a week at one point whilst both lifts in the 15 storey building were out of service.
I think it is true
Ok. Why?
Anecdotal experience.
I don’t think the UK is perfect but I think the overall experience for disabled people is better here compared to the rest of the developed world.
I’ve been told London, save for some transport staff and stationary lime bikes, is the most accessible city to live, work and visit. Based on my experiences in other European capitals I think its likely to be true.
There’s a world of difference between better and good.
It’s a damning indictment of human nature if Britain is as good as it gets for people with disabilities.
I agree, generally speaking.
Britain is pretty good for disabled people I think but infrastructure is crumbling so bad.
lol as if this is the state of our country, criticising politicians for not watching Netflix and doing their real job (debatable whether they do it well).
The dumb fuck then proceeds to call it a documentary and has the gall to imply others don’t know what they’re talking about without watching it.
Bro’s name is actually Batman
it’s a city in Turkey close-ish to Syrian border, might be the explanation
We were asked to play a gig up at Diarbakir. The USAF had a remote radar station up there, only about 40 personnel. We were resident at Incirlik airbase near Adana. They offered us $700, a huge sum in 1969, for a one nighter. Great, we said. Then they told us we’d have to go up there in a Red Cross truck because if we went in our own van we’d likely get shot up by bandits in the mountains. Never turned down a gig so quick. Happy days. Flying over it at 35,000 feet is you best bet, Trion.
We need a thread to get all these Ray Parlour esque stories
@Truth_hurts More positive news.
