I for one welcome our new overlord, Elon Musk

Why? This essentially kills twitter. If you think a dick bag billionaire stock manipulator like husk will crusade for free speech I have a penis shaped rocket ship to sell you.

He’s doing what Bezos is doing with WaPo—owning a major media outlet to control the narrative about his shit business practices.

With Twitter he pretty much has almost all major politicians in his pocket.

Husk is no maverick freedom fighter. He’s a rapacious capitalist with a god complex.

Me too! I think it’s brilliant, and hilarious

I am all for Freedom of speech but Trump getting banned did make it better since we didn’t get various news articles & public reaction to each of his stupid tweets

Anything is better than woke narratives being pushed.

I have no idea what this response means?

guise twitter is already owned by a billionaire with a political agenda, that part doesn’t change lol

I strongly dislike Twitter because I think it’s an extremely toxic community and platform full of loud-mouthed mouth breathers willing to attack anyone and everyone because if you aren’t a part of their solution you are part of the problem.

The lefties on Twitter are insane woke progressives with racist tendencies and the righties on twitter are insane Putin/Trump shills with racist tendencies.

I prefer to just never go on it unless it’s to try and get a refund from airlines

I often read this comparison to Bezos.

Elon Musk is nothing like Bezos. The only similarity is that they are both obscenely rich.

Sure, Elon can be a dick and is a flawed person. He is human after all.

But, despite his flaws, he has done much more for mankind than a Bezos or many other billionaire for that matter. People slating his achievements with Tesla or Space X have done little to no research on these companies and what they have actually achieved.

As for his media persona. I absolutely love that he riles everyone up who disagrees with him or who doesn’t like him.

Personally I don’t care about twitter. Other then following a couple accounts related to the NYSE / nasdaq and crypto I don’t use it to tweet.

However, I am a freedom of speech absolutist and I do believe he will be far less inclined to ban accounts who dissent from the mainstream narrative. Which is a good thing, because the mainstream narrative is often an agenda peddling lying hypocrite one. If it gets exposed, the whistleblower is gaslit, smeared and harassed and in some cases forced to flee or arrested. It’s neither left nor right. It’s dirty.

I don’t think Elon is part of that group. In fact that group hates Elon precisely because they can’t control him. Which is why I like him.

I’ll leave Twitter in a second if it becomes a complete fake news propaganda shit fest like Facebook.

By my reading, it means the concern never really was free speech, the important thing is that his anti-woke agenda “wins”

I don’t use Twitter but why are people saying they’re going to leave it if Musk takes over?

It seems as if they don’t want people they disagree with to have the same level of freedom of speech they have.

Surely a nutter like Trump should be allowed to say what he likes so we can see and criticise his stupidity.
Shutting him down won’t make him change his views and will only rile people who agree with him even more.

I’m fairly left leaning but this woke culture is stifling and indulgent.

I’m fed up with the hypocrisy of pampered celebrities telling me where I’m going wrong.

If these weak minded wokists want to leave Twitter just because people with opposing views are being allowed to express their opinions, then perhaps their own views don’t hold up to scrutiny.

Freedom of speech and problems without some regulations or monitoring in a responsible manner goes way deeper than political opinions or agendas.
People really need too think long and hard about how bad it could get.
Social media in general has brought some real problems in society and just concentrating on this woke argument is very one dimensional.

Same people who said they would leave for Canada if Trump won

The number of jobs Amazon has created is far higher than companies managed by Musk.

Granted the benefits of non fossil fuel based automobile & paving innovation for manned space flight is critical, so is millions of people earning wages down to jobs created (directly or indirectly) by Amazon.

Whether it was Bezos’ intention or not, that’s a different matter but I would say Bezos has had a bigger positive immediate impact on world population.

Amazon have also cost people jobs though in fairness.

People will find a way to work one way or another as the past has proven. Automation of the assembly line and automation in many other areas was seen as a threat to the workforce. Yet the same workforce found other places to work.

If AI truly pushes people out of work I have no doubt that something like a basic universal income will come into effect. Capitalism needs consumers after all. And consumers need money.

Amazon is a dirty company. Paying minimum wages and strong arming transportation companies to deliver their packages for ridiculously low fees. I do not like Bezos.

Elon Musk is pushing mankind forward with his companies. Tesla, space X, solar city, neurolink. All that whilst making a profit. Nobody forces anyone to buy Tesla stock. Yet it is being bought in quantities that are unheard of. It means these hedge funds and investors have massive trust and belief in what Elon is doing.

I like Musk for many many reasons and I am very happy a person like him is around. It would be a sad state of affairs if he wasn’t.
