I also said there will always be ways humans will be divided. Taking out Religion from the equation however takes a massive contributing factor out.

Humans will always fight but least we can do is remove the reasons to fight.
Take out Religion and you have 20,000 less wars. Not as many would be willing to bomb themselves out in the name of Abortion laws as they would for their God.

You have less distinctions between humans. No more Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Christians etc.
Heck Muslims have internal conflicts - Shiya, Sunni etc.
The amount of division Religion have created is enumerable.

So yeah while the world won’t be the perfect place to be at, it would surely be ‘nicer’ place to be at.

What is even the point of having Religion in an educated 21st century modern world?
Ofcourse it is a far fetched dream for sure.

I really don’t think the world would look all that different without religion. The “problem” is with human behavior.

I’ve heard academic and well studied atheists argue the excesses of capitalism are far more damaging to the world and humanity

Funnily enough, we used to finish with “nil” whenever we played under Emery :joy:

We pay 30 quid a week for my daughter to have four dance club lessons.
Does two drama groups at a weekend for twelve quid.
There’s kit and two pairs of shoes needed for the dance coming in at just over a hundred quid. Any performance then incur further cost. It’s not something everyone can afford.
Had to trade this off against a gymnastics group who wanted subs of 90 quid a month. Wouldn’t judge everyone as harshly as some would.

I’d just qualify this by saying just putting your kids in clubs doesn’t make you a better parent either.

Yeah people are forgetting the expense of these things when judging families here. It’s not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

Man I feel so bad for Capitalism. (Democratically run capitalism I mean)
Just about the only effective way to run the human civilization but no one appreciates it.

Control.
Unscrupulous charlatans, pretending they have an invisible friend, that is better than every other charlatans invisible friend and scaring gullible people into believing a load of nonsense.
It is a crude but very effective tool for controlling the population.

Anyone listening to LBC at the moment?

They said that the security service in this country has 43,000 people in it’s risk pool of potential terrorists, mostly Islamist, a few far Right types. On their active monitoring list there only ever 3,000 at any given time, and this doesn’t include the lone wolf/ do it yourself / slip through the net type of terrorist.

Fucks sake.

It’s honestly probably impossible to successfully monitor them all in any case. 43,000 is a lot of people and a lot of man hours.

Pity we couldn’t swap them for 43,000 who died with the virus.

Was about to say this. I wanted to join the local football team back in the day. But when I asked I was told we didn’t have money for cleats or the contribution :joy:.

On the other hand, some good news tonight.

Hope Boris finishes off this repugnant organisation off for good soon.

Yeah been hearing 2 or 3 fire works every night at sundown. Doubt that conspiracy theory but something is definitely up.

Nah that’s tying your trainers together by the laces and throwing them over power cables
