Ireland is very much the same but then we as an electorate always seem to punish the smaller party more than the bigger one in the next election. A number of former government parties dont even exist anymore.

Yeah but that’s only because we have such a wonderful system and way of life that works that we want to protect it from people from cultures and religions that can’t respect it and adjust to it.

Yeah for real, FPTP really holds back the UK and plays a large role in the issues UK society faces.

Does this just mean Muslims? I know nothing of the internal politics of Denmark, so I have no idea what makes your system so wonderful and I don’t know who the main immigrant groups in your country are.

Sadly, yes it does.

The primary ethnic immigrant group in Denmark is, I suppose, ā€œMuslimsā€. (Mostly Turks, Somalis, Sudanese and Pakistanis)

We’ve got large populations of Eastern Europeans and South East Asians as well, but they’re all able to integrate with our culture and respect it while managing to preserve their own traditions and beliefs in a respectful way.

In fairness, the Turks aren’t too bad they just don’t integrate with Danish society for the most part. The ones that Denmark has the hardest time with are the Somali and Sudanese immigrants.

I do have some sympathy for the immigrants that come from a very conservative and war-torn background in Sudan or Somalia and all of a sudden have to adjust to things being legal that were illegal in their own country but that sympathy somewhat evaporates when they start committing hate crimes against women, gays and jews. More so when they’re second/third generation immigrants that have lived in Denmark their whole life and don’t have the excuse of ā€œnot knowing any betterā€.

Denmark’s new foreign minister, Jeppe Kofod, shagged a 15 year old girl when he was 34 and giving a speech at a political youth conference back in 2008.

He was her mentor as well as she had joined his party’s youth section.

I’m sure he’ll get along great with Donald Trump :joy:

I find public speaking terrifying enough without the added pressure of shagging a child while trying to deliver my lines.

We should really cripple Iran economically.

Nuclear deal was a massive concession

Didn’t we do that to Germany after WWI? How did that work out?

History isn’t a science

Most people don’t seem to understand this

Can you point to an occasion when crippling sanctions were imposed on a country, and it worked?

There must be some. I just don’t recall them. But I can wait while you google your answer

I just told you History isn’t a science.

Every situation is unique and has distinct variables which makes blank generalizations like yours pointless.

There’s literally zero comparison between post WW1 Germany and modern day Iran. Which makes citing the period stupid.

I just want an example of when crippling sanctions work. And if you can’t provide that, then at least describe why they would work here, when they don’t appear to work when tried before?

Semantics.

You’re focusing on the word ā€œcripplingā€

I’ll rephrase: we should apply economic pressure to the Iranian regime

Providing an example doesn’t prove my point either way. Why? Because every situation is different and unique.

It just pedantic to generalize. Which you do all the time

And why should we ā€œapply pressureā€ to the Iranian regime? What do you expect to gain from such a move?

If the intent was to wipe off 10% in the value of a lot of the shares I hold, then yes

Ah fucking sick of Middle East.
Boring fucking piece of land, governed by a boring religion, ruled by boring people with no personality, nothing to offer to world and constantly embroiled in one war or another.

Shame really as the lands must be scenic
