I echo that sentiment where even thou she said it’s 50/50 she still ordered him to pay up. It’s similar to that female judge that let that woman off who had a history of drink driving off when she was caught drink driving. Also I think she said (paraphrasing) “if you were a man I would throw the book at you” something like that. Sort of plays into the argument that men get harsher sentences than women
It wasn’t that long ago and it was a story of a Judge that told a woman she was lucky, and if she had been a man she would have put away.
There was also the case recently where a woman murdered her husband with a hammer and
was either let off or had a reduced sentence because it was found that her husband was controlling her and making her miserable although there was no violence toward her.
This is fine but, as a few people pointed out, imagine if that was reversed and a man had been let off in the same circumstances.
There is plenty of research done on this and for similar crimes a woman will sometimes be dealt with more leniently than a man.
What about all the cyclists that regularly jump red lights - i saw 3 different cyclists do this on the way to work this morning !? And not use fckn cycle lanes that take up half a road space !?
