Had a good game tonight, worked his ass off and got back to make tackles. The guy has the heart for the battle. Him and Saka make a good partnership on the left.
I understand Arteta turning to experienced players to steady a team that was absolutely in a crisis because itâs easier to get the experienced players onside that way and it has the added bonus of taking children (okayâŠyoung men) out of the firing line.
That said, Martinelli really should move ahead of Lacazette in the pecking order. So should Eddie IMO after that shit sandwich Lacazette served up the other night.
Yeh this front four needs a revamp right now and bringing in Marti/Ed has to be seen as a more progressive move in favour of Laca.
Itâs a win/win right now.
Hugely overrated by Arsenal fans. Kid has potential to play at a good level but Iâm almost certain he doesnât have âeliteâ potential like some seem to think that he does.
Iâd be happy if he reached the current level we see of Gabriel Jesus and I do see some (note: SOME) similarities in their game. The movement in the box being the most impressive for me.
Look, itâs your choice to live so relentlessly in the real world, but can you leave the rest of us the fuck alone? Literally the only thing getting me through this season is the knowledge that we have a future five time Balon dâOr winner on the books.
Mate, heâs 18. Gabriel Jesus came when he was 19 almost turning 20, already solidified in the Brazilian first division for a biggish club there, solidified too in the Brazilian U21 teamsâŠhe was under major pursuit from Madrid and Barcelona. He came into a team that featured SanĂ©, Sterling, De Bruyne, Silva, etc. as providersâŠcompare that to what Martinelli has come into, almost two years younger than Jesus was when he came into English football.
Itâs been a long time since weâve seen Martinelli at what will no doubt be his best position, I think is a part of comments like this. Easy to forget how explosive and dynamic he looked through the middle, with fantastic anticipation and smell for a goal to boot.
Iâm trying to refrain from a bit of a personal attack here, but it feels like youâre always throwing out these âheâs so overratedâ posts just because the probabilities say like 90% of them will stick. But, again, without trying to attack or create an argument, I really donât see the need for it in Martinelliâs case.
And if so, what is it that would make you think he doesnât have elite potential? What is it that Gabriel Jesus or another prospect who youâd deem to have elite potential has that he doesnât? Because I struggle to think of many 18 year olds in world football who Iâd rather have.
Sounds a bit like you in reverse with your clamour for all of the young talent that pass through the doors lol.
I REFUSE TO CONTINUE THIS CONVERSATION DUE TO YOUR ABERRANT AND FATIDIC USE OF THE INTERNETSPEAKWORD lol
Damn, what a word! Is it literally pronounced âfatty-dickâ?
Precisely, Dave, precisely.
I watched all of that film btw. I donât think itâs called âEl Candidatoâ (as robin suggested) in Spanish. I think itâs called âEl Reignoâ
Really good film. Youâll like it
ah here it is:
Yeah, I searched el candidato and came up with nothing, in terms of spanish films. El Reino did pretty well at the Goya awards if I recall, but it takes a strong recommendation for me to watch some of our film (itâs usually kinda shitâsee, A Monster Calls, which the press wouldâve made you think was as good as Xabi Alonso when it was really just Ălvaro MedrĂĄn, at best).
So yeah, Iâll watch it then.
For Spanish film if you want something gritty, grimey, and authentic, which is recent, Iâd recommend Tarde Para la Ira, which wikipedia tells me is called The Fury of a Patient Man in English.
fuck forgot about this kid, he is lovely to watch
Straight to the top.
Haha. Seen the original but nice photoshop there
Legs are thick. I like em thick.
