This was such a bargain. He’s easily worth 12 to 15 times that price now.
If Havertz is worth 60m then Martinelli is worth nearly 100m.
Havertz has done nothing much in the PL since he went to Chelsea, while Martinelli was one of the best attacking players in Europe last season and is a younger better player, with more potential.
If Martinelli was playing for Brighton, Wolves or X mid-table club, you can be sure they would be extracting something silly out of any of the Top 6 clubs for him.
No matter how good he was this season and the obvious improvement he has shown, I expect considerably more from him next season. The same goes for Saka.
I think as he matures he will get more composed in the final third with his decision making, make better runs etc. I’m definitely expecting a much more polished Martinelli next season.
20+ goals in the league you say? I wouldn’t be surprised.
I’ve definitely seen glimpses of improvement from Gabi. Saka also showed massive strides in showings for England.
Our next Bobbie and Freddie.

@Ashgooner1 would be
Martinelli won’t get 20 goals in a season.
He’s not playing in the right position to start with .
If he manages it then you cant jump on him then
But he will
20 league goals for a wide man who doesn’t take penalties is a very big ask.
We’ll see .
Martinelli got 15 goals last season it’s perfectly plausible that he can improve on that this year and get closer to 20 or even around 20. It would be beyond elite numbers but it’s not impossible
It definitely is but we don’t really need him to get that much though would be a bonus
You can’t say that ! How dare you !
You’ll have everyone on here crying .
Heavens above!
Arsenal being Arsenal, we’ll never get that kinda money for Martinelli, unfortunately.
dont want him sold anyway
He needs to unlock his potential that he has . He’s got the ability that’s for sure !
I mean that would be the idea. We buy a car for the intention of keeping it long term. Players are kinda similar.
Tomiyasu, for example, hasn’t passed an MOT for 2 years.
