We’ve signed some real stinkers from Lille but we got this one absolutely correct. I think he’s been excellent this season.
Have we signed anyone from Lille before this? Genuinely don’t remember

Lucky you. I still remember thinking “Oh well Gervinho couldn’t be that bad if he won the league with Lille!”
Been quite disappointed in his play during the run-in so far. He’s quality, but the stupid mistakes are back. Almost cost us in the first half if not for Saliba saving his ass.

I’ve been a huge fan of his in this thread all season. Definitely the best CB in the league, no doubt.
He just needs to be a bit more composed under pressure in these last few games.
The thing is, Gabriel is usually the CB that plays further forward so he is often having to defend in horrible positions if we get countered. Also with the LB tucking in, he can often be tasked with defending that left hand channel as well. All this while running backwards.
Great selection of CBs.

Strange to omit Bremer imo.

I would’ve given him the nod over Militao for this one who recently returned from his ACL tear.
I guess Marquinhos and Gabriel will play almost every game so it’s likely Militao won’t be involved much.
I saw the list and immediately wondered what happened to Bremer. I don’t watch much Juventus so all I know about him is that we were linked with the guy before he moved and he was supposed to be decent. What’s his deal? Just overhyped?
Also, I wouldn’t mind asking Porto how much Wendell would cost. He was pretty impressive imo. Not sure if he’d be able to hang in our team with the passing requirements but it’s not like playing under that crybaby terrorist manager gives him a chance to really show his passing chops.
I’d be looking at Evanilson.
Right age profile, goal or assist every ~90 minutes this season, good all round physicals and technicals and not on big wages (30k)
