Gabriel Jesus (9)

If everyone else is fit there’s certainly a scenario where Jesus doesn’t make the squad. But if there’s an injury or two and we need something from the bench I don’t think Arteta would hesitate to use him.

If we weren’t prepared to risk him getting injured why would another club come in and cough up for him?

I’m sure there would be some competition for his signature based on how he’s performed in the past. It wouldn’t be anything significant though as the teams vying for him will probably be from outside of the PL.

I try not to think about the anount of money we’ve wasted on this guys wages in the past couple years. The ROI is shocking given he is one of our highest earners.

was kinda shocking ROI even when he was playing most of the time too.

I think when he was fit, he was our best attacker against the low blocks we constantly face. Not sure how he bounces back from the injury but if he’s anywhere near the level he was before his first big injury, I think he starts. Dude is a baller.

He’s going to be our new option in attack, but I agree with those who say he’ll be gradually reintegrated. During his last little cameo he looked sharp and hungry.

He’ll add significant depth to our squad and Mikel will have a lovely selection problem to solve. I think Dowman will likely end-up playing more U21 games as a result, get him match fit and sharp for next season away from the publicity of the EPL and sell Jesus in the summer.

Back in FULL training apparently?

Nice to hear. So all 3 of Haverz, Jesus and Gyokeres could be back at around the same time (in a matter of weeks).

Madueke and Odegaard should be back at around the same time too… Would be insane to have all of them available for a while. The options up front are insane. We can crush opponents on the sheere number of individual options we have.

Just watched this, I have no idea which leg he injured this time but that left leg looks pretty stiff and rigid in his movements compared to the right one. Obviously he’s using the right one more as well but still looks weird to me.

Really would love to see him back and contributing, was so mad when he went to city in the first place as I wanted him here back then, actually wanted him less by the time we signed him. Then we saw how good he could be for just 3 months and been robbed since

Some minutes over the busy Christmas period hopefully.

it was not one knee…
he injured both knees, badly.

I am just not optimistic about his return.
As a part time player with no expectation, it is alright.

That’s why I specified this time.

A successful return to training for Jesus, with a fully fit right knee.

soon :folded_hands:

Would be nice if we could have him as a rotation/alternative for Gyokeres for those final 10/20 mins for a while.

Any signs of Gyokeres returning btw?

he will play a game and be out again for months. I am happy for him but really cant be relied upon for anything.

Jesus x Eze

Feels like that could be a special combo. For both of those games :poldi:

Oh gosh! That’s real Joga Bonita football. Super flair players.

Jesus is our most enjoyable player to watch.

If he is coming back into the squad we really need him to step up and help us get it over the line this season…
