Gabriel Jesus (9)

Can see him going on loan in January. Even if he is fit he’s so far behind in the pecking order. Unless we’re in another injury wave at that time.

Hopefully not. If fit, he’s probably our best option on the left. Can create magic during the game. He’d be absolutely perfect for a game like Brighton on Wednesday.

He’s worth having around as depth. He can leave on a free in the summer.

Surprised nobody shared his interview with ESPN.

He said he’s not ready to go back to Brazil, unless we renew his contract he’s staying till 2027 and that Arteta and the board are telling him every day how excited they are about his return.

Arteta is going full Boehly this season, just keeping as many good players as possible around as injury insurance.

it will be nice if he makes some kind of impact for us in the second half of the season, on his day he’s unplayable but he needs to stay fit once he returns

sell next summer otherwise

I think Mikel loves the chaos Jesus creates in defenses with his close control and ability to dribble out of tight spaces. I think he’ll be a perfect impact sub. I can see Mikel giving him 20 - 30 mins in games where we need something different. This will also be a great way to manage his workload given his injury proneness.

Jesus could be the difference maker towards in April/May when we the rest of the squad might be feeling the effects of a long season, and he’s relatively fresh.

Hang on, so he’s back then?

He is.

Super sub for Sunderland ?

I would expect he would be involved in some friendly games before being put straight into the first team.

He’s back but not completely back

Often with ACL recovery the player will join some light training but it will still be months until they are ready to actually play competitively. I think if he’s available for selection around the festive period that would be great.

Fucking buzzing.

***Fights temptation for a lazy Jesus making an impact at Christmas*******

So he’s back?

Be prepared for him being constantly offside!

That said he could make an important contribution to our title charge…the team always need someone to hand out water so the players can rehydrate :grinning:

Hate to be a pessimist but I don’t see Jesus playing for us again. In the time he’s been out the team has moved well past him. Playing him would be like dropping a new player into a starting lineup that he’s never played with before.

I don’t think the club would even risk him re-injuring himself before they can sell him for whatever pittance we’ll get in return.

Relentless worker, incredible touch, technique and vision. Don’t think it would take him long to slot in. We probably only need 5 starts out of him and maybe double that in sub appearances.

Sell him to Serie A in the summer.
