I think with the loss of Rice, the thought was that we would be too open with Vieira. Havertz is better defensively so personally I think this was the right substitution to make.
You’d think so but I felt like we absolutely lost control of the midfield with him on.
I think we would have been too exposed. Vieira was being tackled and was getting caught on the ball. Jorginho doesn’t have the same legs as Rice. The loss of Rice was the turning point in the match and in the midfield battle IMO.
Pretty sure the statue of Wenger outside the stadium has better wheels than Jorginho.

Maybe he’ll turn it around. I sincerely hope he does because the club is already heavily invested in him but so far it’s not been a great showing. He’s either been average or invisible, which is fine for a guy you took a punt on but not a 65m signing that stopped the club from reinforcing in other areas.
Makes me laugh watching him play because it reminds me a lot of Reyes back in the day. It was just a given he’d be rolling on the floor holding his face at some point every game

tbf…Reyes was wee skinny teenager thrown into the rough and tumble of the Premier League during the peak Allardyce era. He was 5ft9 on a good day.
