I expected more, at least in europa
Started the game pretty poorly, grew intoand I thought he began having a good game but at some point he completely disappeared.
A dozen games into his career and a few of them sub appearances too. Nothing means anything yet.
Agreed with this though, let’s hope it translates to more.

Agreed. Still think he has a big upside. Can certainly see why the club wanted to moved fast for him. Blessing in disguise this break to work closer with Arteta and his team and iron some of his flaws out.

Apart from the fact he was an investment for this season.
Maybe not as an actual starter but for 30 million a showing in the Europa and a decent sub squad player was a minimum hope.
Been very disappointed just from that POV.

Yea I see the point I just don’t share it, yet. Not every player hits the ground running regardless of opposition. Plenty of games yet this season for him to prove his worth.

Well I wouldn’t want to compare him with Sambi and do think his reputation and fee alone is worth backing.
There is definitely a talent and I don’t buy into the body mass stuff.

Charles asked Arteta about Vieira. He said he’s been unlucky in front of the goal(I will agree with that) and actually mentioned he felt more comfortable with the players he played with in the match against Brentford.
One way for Arteta to say that Fabio has mainly played with bums, lol.

Agree completely. I felt pretty good about him playing with our preferred XI but I like those types of flighty creative players so I may be ignoring some of the gaps in his game.
Arteta also said he missed preseason and that he thinks this period during the World Cup will make him pretty good.
Sounded confident saying that.

Yeah I don’t have faith in him ATM if he had to come in and play an extended run in place of Odegaard, hopefully he can find his feet soon so I don’t feel that way for much longer.
Haven’t seen the match, but I’m going to trust God on this one

Jokes aside, he so clearly has quality. Am not for a second suggesting that Vieira’ ceiling is close but Modric struggled his first six months at Madrid. Luckily, he had a manager with faith in his ability.
Vieira will be fine. How good he can be remains to be seen. At worst I think he become an El Nenny - steady, reliably performer.

Said ot on the thread but happy with his involvement in the goal.
Normal players would rush there, shoot and hope for the best.
He look very composed, I thought he was gonna go Ozil there and chip the keeper but he excellently found Odegaard and Saka in the middle which simply had to tap it in.
Intrigued to see him in the prep for post WC. Hopefully ESR is back as well and we start trying out playing with two attacking midfielders as interiors.

Strange he hasn’t got any minutes yet. Thought he looked great during the break and had a very good cameo against Wolves before that.

Isn’t that the story of his pre season though. I don’t really trust him myself at the moment. Think he would be another in that last 30 yesterday who wouldn’t be good enough in that situation.

I think we’ve got to be careful that Mudryk doesn’t fall into Fabio Vieira territory, too. Relatively unproven with an even bigger price tag.
