I am not saying you cannot compare, I just don’t want the media to hype him up to someone and give him unnecessary pressure.

This is so wrong it’s absurd.
Nwaneri is about 17 and a half, Cesc was starting PL games, consistently, at this age, at the start of 2004/05. And he wasn’t only starting because we had so many injuries. Obviously the injuries gave him room, but if he wasn’t good enough he would maybe start a few games and get benched, he was a starter for pretty much the whole season and right from the start he was able to operate and compete on that level.
And it’s not that the team was in any more need for him at the time than we are for a guy like Nwaneri atm. We are absolutely desperate after an 8 of Nwaneri’s profile atm, and even with Ode and Merino back there’s still plenty of room for another 8 there (as a squad player).
About last night, that was only a League One side, I’m pretty sure Cesc had some random league cup games during 2003/04 too btw.
If Nwaneri started these games against Spurs and City (as Cesc did in 2004/05) that would have been a much bigger testament of his quality than scoring 36 goals against a league one side lol.
Before he shows someting against a decent Championship team at least, let alone a PL team (preferably), I’ll maybe start to get excited, but so far he could turn out to be better than Ode, but could also be another Jay Emmanuel Thomas and be smuggling weed in a few years as far as I’m concerned.
I really hope gets some decent playing time in the PL as soon as possible so we can have a better pitcture of his talent and prevent debates like this

You never know with young talent. I thought Patino was a sure bet to make it to the first team.
I think allot can go wrong for a youth talent considering kids brains aren’t fully developed at that age. There’s so much distraction and temptation that can derail their development.
I think he’ll be here. 100 games in five years is quite low though so maybe there should have been a squad player option.
In my defense I don’t want to jynx him.
I’ve voted in this one cos i reckon from what I’ve seen so far that Nwaneri has got it. Only really felt the same about Cesc and Jack in the past.

He has to play more from now on.
Can’t tell whether he’s ready to start physically, but he has to get more minutes as a sub at least.
He clearly has the ability to contribute. Great in tight areas. Poor management if he doesn’t get the minutes especially while Merino and Ode are out.

No reason to be concerned on that.
Clearly he and MLS are trusted, else we wouldn’t gut the team like we did in the summer, we have no choice but to rely on them now.
Already they’ve got minutes against Spurs and City and Arteta trusted to bring Nwaneri on while we were looking to score the winner.

Came on with confidence and purpose. There was a shift of energy when he came on. Aura.
