He said a lot more than that including that he wouldn’t be suprised if things got resolved quickly.

People made allot out of Özil’s body language—I kind of see it with Nwaneri.
I think it’s clear he’s ambitious and backs himself. He’s probably seen lesser talents like Chido go elsewhere and is somewhat open to it if he can get enough play time.
Would be dumb if ge forced a move away. Saka already set the blueprint. Stay humble and work for the team where and when needed.
He won’t displace Saka but there’s an opportunity in Ødegaard’s position if he’s willing to be patient.
Just loan him out to one of the newly promoted teams.
Or just play him like 25-30 games next season like a totally normal development of a player his age and aee what he can do with that.
I’m confident he can establish himself, i bet he is too.
Not really.
Decent player this kid, but can’t have an 18 year old try headlining the summer when you have bigger things going on at the club.
I think when you take a step back and think about this whole thing I think there is a rich possibility the media are making this way bigger than it really is.
Just because he hasn’t signed the contract rapidly months ago doesn’t have to mean much. We usually take some time for almost every contract extension. Who even knows whether he even got a concrete offer? The club is maybe still arranging the full contract.
I kinda doubt now the whole situation about him is anywhere near as dramatic as it’s being painted these days.
One hand, the club probably doesn’t want to hand out a big contact to a player who is just making his first steps in the team, and are probably trying to be cautios and balanced about their offer. On the other hand Ethan is surely aware of his own ability and talent and maybe won’t just jump on the first offer. Or even more likely, his agent is involved too and he knows he has an asset on his hands and is maybe more concerned about the money Ethan is getting than Ethan himself at this stage.
The media are expectedly quick in their attempt to picture a war between him and the club, just as between Arteta and Berta a while ago, or some other examples… But we should be cautious about jumping to conclusions atm. Especially since we barely have any direct statemens both from Ethan or the club (Arteta etc).
I think I was lambasted for suggesting this only a short time ago!
He has all the quality to succeed at Arsenal, he just needs to be patient and the opportunities will come.
Have we… found something we agree on? The end is nigh
We agree on loads of things @Josh
You didn’t even receive one direct reply to that post in fact
I’m sure I did, in fact I think you may have made a comment…maybe it was on a different thread…
You can’t treat me rejecting the idea of a loan as ‘lambasting’.
I like the word and wanted an excuse to use it. It isn’t used often enough in casual conversations
Don’t think @shamrockgooner is guilty of what you said. But we certainly ‘lambasted’ you over wanting to fine people to vote!
You certainly did and do lambast me over the view I expressed on that regard
Would like to see him on loan at the likes of Palace or Fulham, rather than at a struggling, newly promoted team, camped in their own half every game.
Placing my conspiracy cap on. What do we think about this?
They’ve offered a new contract, he said he needs regular game time (which is fair enough) but he’s worried that Dowman is going to take his Odegaard understudy role if he goes away for a season. He will know all too well how good our latest prodigy is.
So he’s found himself with a difficult situation, put up with the game time he’ll get at Arsenal, go out on loan with no long-term guarantee of game time when he returns or that he’ll get a decent contract elsewhere if the loan goes badly and he leaves next season (Patino-style) or leave now.
Tin-foil hat coming off…now.
I was thinking this also. I am thinking everyone is training their eyes on Martinelli but i reckon it could be Nwaneri that could end up going. Fans would rightly lose their minds, but i would rather lose him than Dowman. I also see that Nwaneri seems to have a bit of hutchinson about him…impatient and ready to jump without thinking things through properly.
Oh lord this Dowman stuff again. The calls for him to play after a stupid draw against Everton in December.
Just destroy me and leave nothing left.
