I’d more likely expect him to have a good game on the LW than be blaming the position for a bad game.
It’s weak sauce, just like this whole rodrygo will explode on the left shite. Messi would’ve been just as good in about 6 positions, he wouldn’t suddenly get tackled more playing left wing and still run through people for fun. He’d just have to figure out a different shooting mechanism coming in from that side, or stay outside on his left and drill across goal to the right more.
You may get slight differences but top players just play well regardless.
Unfortunately, did not get enough minutes to showcase his talent and was played out of his natural position few times too. But not a problem, he’s 2 years younger than his peers and I’m sure it’s been a great learning curve. Winning the trophy will be great for his confidence and development.
I think if he’s as good as we believe he is, he will rise above either of those potential signings, and he has the headstart based on what he did last season. He should back himself in that situation I think.
Exactly but ultimately he does need the right environment and dynamic at club to suit him so he can flourish. What I mean is, Arteta should be open to giving him more opportunities next season as opposed to last season; not just right wing but Odegaards position too. Arteta imo is weak when it comes to rotating consistently.
Otherwise, this could easily be a Gnabry case and we know how well he did once he moved to Bayern.
Either way, Arsenal should definitely get him on a contract extension and ensure the value asset grows. It’s about time we knock of Chamberlain as the most expensive sold player, should we sell the next Hale End product or first team player (ie Martinelli)
Can’t stand it when players who have literally just turned 18 are demanding game time at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
He’s not Lamine Yamal and that’s not the benchmark he should be measuring himself against right now.
Obviously a top talent but if he backs himself he should stay, hone his skills and force his way into the first team.
End of the day we are one of Europe’s best clubs for offering young talent a pathway into the first team. Demanding game time and seeking guarantees is not the way to go about it.
Yeah and of all of the clubs to go to if he wasn’t sure about how much time we’d give him, Chelsea you would think would be at the very bottom of that list. How on earth would he expect to have a clearer pathway there given how that club is run?
I always find it funny when said players are looking for more game time yet they end up going to teams of similar level, who have similar or sometimes more competition at the positions they play.
Hutchinson comes in mind.
That’s just PR nonsense when ultimately it’s all about a bigger pay day for both the player and agent.
If you’re serious about game time, there’s plenty of clubs out there that are willing to be a platform for players, most notable one is Dortmund, with Haaland and the Bellingham brothers as key examples in recent years.
For what is worth, I don’t think Ethan goes anywhere.
