Ethan Nwaneri (22)

This. I’m just happy to watch him develop the same way we watched Saka develop.

No need for the added expectations.
For now as long as he keeps it tidy I’ll be pleased.

Nwaneri would be tasked with more than necessary if played centrally. I feel like he’d have to play a lot safer and I don’t want that. I want him to dribble, shoot, and make dangerous passes.

He’s also becoming more comfortable with positional rotations on the right. Often, he receives the ball out wide, passes it on, then drifts centrally into the pockets. So I don’t see it as restrictive as he’s not solely hugging the touchline. He’s intelligent enough to recognize when he can step in to become the No. 10.

What a ride this season has been for Nwaneri.

All that “gradual introduction” into the team during the first half of the season. Carling cup games and garbage time in the PL… Literally a couple of months forward and all of a sudden he’s the main guy in our title run in.

He’s our Alexis atm, he’s the guy to make stuff happen in the final third. Can’t imagine how it would feel for him if we do end up winning the league with him as one of the main guys - in his first proper steps as a senior player lol.

We need the senior players to step the fuck up. Timber and Rice have been super solid recently as has Gabriel. The likes of Trossard and Odegaard need to be taking the spot light of Nwaneri a bit.

Can’t wait to watch this kid play again. Him and MLS

In a brief lapse of judgement, I captained him in fantasy football.

Probably going to come off injured in the 11th minute, out for the season.

I want to see this when saka is back. I get the feeling it could bring back some early 22/23 vibes.

Or next season, Williams Nwaneri Saka

I guess Leicester did make more of him than he is.
Still a splendid talent but he’s still got ways to go.

Teams aren’t taking him lightly anymore and they know he’s got a brilliant curler with his left in him.
In the second half he was forcing that too much when he had options and ultimately he kept cutting in right into a bunch of Forest players who were well prepared for it.

Good thing for him is that he’ll get plenty of time this season to work things out.

Was still our most lively attacker, just 2 occasions he was a bit selfish when timber was open.

I’d say Trossard was that in the first half and Merino in the second.

Not that it’s saying much either way. Ultimately they were all quite underwhelming overall.

Trossard was good first half but it was mostly in the middle more like he was playing the left 8 role.

As an attacking force he didn’t do much.

17 year old isn’t consistent shocker

It shows how truly fucked we are that he is forced to play every game

Him and MLS getting more experience to accelerate growth is one of the few positives left this season

Regardless of results or level of performance

This - he is great but now is the time where opposition start planning for him and he has to evolve. Needs time and unfortunatlely because of our injuries is now fast tracked.

Elite talent.

The boy was a real asset today. Think if he can continue building a relationship with Odegaard we can create more opportunities to score.

Dreadful goalscoring numbers though. How many games are we into the season for our top scorer to be on 15?

In Kai’s defence, he’s played half a season and played as a midfielder on quite a few occasions.
Saka, has played even less than that.

I think it’s more embarrassing when you see on how many goals the rest of the team is on.
