We’ve played at least 40 games.
We do need a proper goalscorer. I think we should try and sign someone at a smaller club who has decent numbers and when they come here their numbers will increase hugely with the better service. This is something that happens all the time and there is a large documented history to back that up.
The fact that our top scorer has 15, is an absolute joke. The club should hang their heads in shame for failing to address that in the last 3 windows.
All they needed to do was buy an LW and ST, and they had 3 windows to do it and they decided against it. I still don’t understand their logic on the recruitment side.
The way he strikes a ball is sublime
There was an incredible amount of power in that shot considering the majority of his body, thus weight, was in front of the ball.
@shamrockgooner I’m curious…what was you ‘archiving’ and ‘unarchiving’?
I will be honest, I never quite saw it with Bojan but the fact he was playing in one of the greatest football sides football has ever seen at his age was enough for me to think he was a special player, on addition to him being related to Messi of course.
Bojan and Dos Santos both looked exceptional talents when they played in that Barca elite team. Remember how lethal Bojan was on FM08 lol. Good days.
Really nice to see Ethan get in those advanced positions yesterday - his finish is what I was referring to last week; late runs in the box. That uplift power shot, awareness to get into that position nice and quick, top awareness.
In the business we call that a fuck up.
I can see why Arteta has said he could play as a #9. Such conviction in his shot.
Yeah, Partey doesn’t have this yet.
@Mercenary I wasn’t familiar with your game
Can’t wait to see what he has to offer next season. He’s been absolutely IMMENSE so far, since starting to play as a RW.
How is his production compared to Saka this season, G+A/per 90, since playing on the wing? Pretty sure he’s better, or at least close, if you look at the open play production.
Took his goal brilliantly, also made most of the work for Ode’s first one.
Btw he’s such a decisive, direct, concrete player. In terms of style, out of all somewhat recent Arsenal players, reminds of Gnabry the most. He always knew where the goal is, from those first games. Was never about senless dribling into nothing positions, always moved himself ibto a position to score or assist with his dribbling.
He’s absolutely a final turd player. All that talk about being Odegaard’s replacement/successor was an absolute miss.
Will be interesting to see what Arteta does when Saka comes back. Nwaneri has to keep playing regularly. Doesn’t have to start every game, but if Arteta pushes him back to the bench in some impact/joker role he needs a sack.
Can’t wait to see Saka and him together, I’m sure we’ll work something out.
He’s nailed on as backup for both Saka and Odegaard, that’s for sure.
Covering both positions will give him plenty of time on the pitch.
I think he will probably continue to start this season even if Saka returns.
I did see a stat somewhere recently where he had the edge on G/A p90, compared to everyone in the top 5 leagues.
Mind you, I think it included all comps so the statpadding in the League Cup also counted.
Nevermind, a big chunk of that still came in the league, plus the CL now.
For his age and experience his end product is on a crazy high level. On top of his obvious technical ability and overall skillset.
You can expect some incosistencies and a certain drop at some stage, would be crazy if he maintains this level, but what he’s showing so far is giving us every possible reason to be very excited about his future.
Super elite talent and brimming with confidence but I wouldn’t want us to not sign a LW despite his emergence
RW is Sakas spot and l when he’s back Nwaneri as a rotation piece would be best I think.
Yeah, I want a starting LW and a 9, but Nwaneri should still be able to get plenty of game time if Arteta rotates well.
