Emmanuel Eboue

I lived in Birmingham at the time too. I also went to the home game, which we lost and had to get the train back up there with loads of away fans.

Their subsequent implosion in the race for CL football took some of the sting out.

Home defeat was just after we’d beaten Man United 2-1 At home if I’m not mistaken

Eboue was tactically lacking made up by his athleticism, always had mistakes in him, or in other words unreliable. Had a decent cross in him too, but that was about it. Sagna came in and there was no doubt he was better player.

I didn’t mind him though, seemed happy to be at the club had a jovial spirit about him.

Remember him having the run of all runs in the Champions League. Clamped Robinho and Ronaldinho. One quality season and stunk outside of that.

He can continue the Eboues proud tradition of being booed at the Emirates.

He got given cult hero status after that from the fanbase’s collective guilt :joy:
