I do agree with this, never massively rated him but fucking pointless transfer and shock horror turns out to be the guy we couldâve used massively.

I would be surprised if they fully cover it.
But now the Summers coming Edus got two choices.
1 work his nuts off to nail the acquisitions needed to cover significant weak points in the squad; or
2 order in som top quality beef and light up the bbq while telling the Kroenkes heâs working hugely hard to light up next season.

The difference between CL and a deep run in the Europa League is probably more like 50m unless you are going to the CL semifinals or final. In practice, it is actually probably less because many players will have clauses in contracts that involve bonuses if they play in CL, so while revenues might go up 50m more, wages are also going up somewhat.
We probably saved something like 20-25m just on Aubaâs wage costs for 18 months so no its not an equivalent amount as the premium for getting into the CL but its not an insignificant portion of that amount either. And of course there is no guarantee we would have qualified for the CL if we had kept Auba or loaned Jovic or whatever other counterfactual one wants to imagine.
You are assuming we are not going to sell him in summer, if that is the case, yes you are right.
We saved about 7 mil for this season by getting rid of him in January.
If we can get a buyer to pay 10m (very reasonable price, right?), so his last year of salary will be off (16m) and we will have 3 millions back (10 minus 7).
Now we lost his service for the whole 2nd half of season, and if we are missing out top 4 and the CL.
We are missing a fortune here.

I donât know why you would assume we could sell him for 10m in the summer if nobody was offering him to buy him for 10m in the winter. Its true that if we had cut a similar free-to-leave deal in the summer, then we would still have saved the next year wages. But we might not have been able to cut such a deal for a player who by then might not have played (or played well) for a very long time.
Which again is on management, he has managed to score just shy of 15 goals since joining Barca in late Jan⌠a tally that eclipses our leading scorer for the whole season in just 4 months.

IF you do believe he doesnât worth a mere 10m, it is okay.
Just like I believe he does worth more than that.
We did not get an offer because we just fuck up the whole relationship and made him look like a terrible man and killed someone.
In fact, we all know he can score goals when he is happy.
I am not saying he is still a world beater. He is still a better than decent goal scorer if you donât fucking micro managing him.
Tuchel said it earlier this year⌠when he was coaching BVB, yes, Auba always late for practice, but never missed one.
He was not in form, and he was not interested, BUT, he was still out best scorer on the team at that time (and still is if staying). Why the fuck we have to make it worse and exile him? Once we get the points, the goals, and cement top 4, then screw him at that time. When he was still needed, when we still needed a goal scorer, this is called being flexible.
Wanna bet a few bucks and see if he worth 10m or not this summer?

Edu still strikes me as a bit of an empty suit. He got led around by the nose by Dusanâs reps, it wasnât impressive.
I think if we get Jesus it will be very much down to him convincing him tbh, moreso than Arteta.
Iâm still not enamored by that signing. Especially if we fork over 50m for a guy with one year left. Thatâs not âbe excitedâ territory. It reminds me of when an NFL team signs a slot receiver or third choice receiver and expects them to be the number one receiver.
