Well any excuse for me to be vitriolic about these clowns and I’ll take it whether reasoned or not.
Yeah I’m with you… I am long since done with these clowns and just waiting for the day they are finally gone… sadly, we are likely saddled with the owners for a few years so just have to hope they stop hiring idiots, but their track record is diabolical.
Well yeah, we were consistently shit
I’m optimistic, but we have sunk a lot of money into Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale, and we sunk a lot of money into Pepe three summers back. Pepe is slowly getting there but spending that money on him was a mistake even though he might come good. A lot for me hinges on how things go for Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale, and right now it is too early for me to judge them either way. Already though Lokonga looks like a good signing. We’ll have to see about the new RB also.
I hate that fact he didn’t have the balls to put any targets on this season in terms of position, the fact he did that really scares me. It’s like he did it so if we finished 12th they could talk crap that suits their narrative and try and justify out. I would have liked to hear something like " Yes we’re building towards the future, but nothing short of a European place this season is acceptable "
This whole thing is just Edu, Vinai and Arteta covering each others backs. Let’s play it straight.
Being in the wilderness for the next 2-3 years will be very damaging to this club.
We need Kroenkes to wake up and realise they’ve been conned again which won’t happen
I remember that crap Liverpool side very clearly for some reason lol
FFS Borini , there’s a guy that got way too many chances.
£32.5million Benteke weren’t much better either Brendan Rodgers has come a long way from those disasters.
What’s amazing is that the line is they inherited a big mess saying that many of the players are unsaleable for a decent price but then they do something like extend a Xhaka and make him captain again on even bigger wages so he’s even more unsaleable. He’s a hospital pass dating back to Wenger and there have been a lot - anyone for a Mustafi for example.
As we’ve built up so much bloat other clubs also know they can get our players for cheap eg Martinez. Even worse they’ve become completely or nearly worthless under the head coach he helped appoint and who he keeps backing so strongly eg Guendouzi who is going for a tiny amount.
By backing Shiteteta he’s literally wiping a couple of hundred million off the squad value by making the players look so shit.
Then selling clubs also know we’re desperate and stupid so we end up massively overpaying for the likes of Ben Shite so we end up paying nearly twice too much on newcomers
Also because he’s keeping Shiteteta we pay too much in wages as even shit players like Xhaka demand over 5m a year to stay in this basket place of a club which is on its downward spiral and with no European football and no real hope of it returning anytime soon.
We had a huge cash mountain but firstly Raul and now Edu are ensuring it’s all been wasted while the performance on the pitch plummets.
He then advises us we need to keep his body of work in context. My answer to this is fuck off you gravy train con man. The only context here is that he’s shit.
Edu is an absolute fraud and an embarrassment to the club for being our first technical director.
The moment he wakes up, is the judgement day
Edu hasn’t been great, but I hope he doesn’t just become a scapegoat for Arteta.
How do you see us getting a better manager if Edu, Vinai and the rest stay. I mean have we not had enough evidence in the last few weeks this is a collective mess.
This focus of shit results on Arteta alone is so narrow minded now. Honestly this bollocks of giving Edu credit for doing an interview were he isnt challenged is scary for me.
I’ve seen enough to be convinced they’re never hiring a manager that would challenge them.
I mean this is out of this world, Edu, Vinai talking in unison about this master strategy of theirs when the club is at it’s peak underperformance under their management. Talking about time and patience in a sport where it’s an absolute premium and at a club where time is running out. With a project being led by a manager who can’t even get the most of his key players.
This club needs it’s Mourinho watershed moment. Embarrassing Woodward was one of the most crucial things he did at United. No one looked at him the same. Meanwhile Edu is here controlling the narrative. He didn’t even place expectations for this season and is waiting for 2022/23. THIS SEASON JUST STARTED AND WE’RE SAYING NOT TO BOTHER.
Shows you how secure he must feel in his position. In American sports GMs will sometimes openly talk about having a rebuilding year but it’s in the context of churning young players and hopefully hitting it big in the draft.
The team have definitely gotten younger but it still seems like there’s no plan. We didn’t recruit to play a certain style, just recruited young.
The coach is the wrong guy too which can’t be helpful.
Both Edu and Arteta have to go at the same time. I’m just stating some thoughts based on spidey senses that Arteta could already be prepping to throw Edu under the bus simply to enable excuses for himself, and to stay as manager longer with a new DoF. I’m not defending Edu. I’m just saying they are both equally accountable for poor results.
Oh for sure. If results are bad Arteta will absolutely start chirping about how he needs more “experienced fighters” in the squad or that he needs “specialists” again.
If the results are bad Arteta will be gone before Xmas, however that doesn’t mean that the next manager won’t suffer these same problems, you don’t need specialists but you do need talents that equate to where we want to be in the league table, about 60 percent of our squad are so far from that level it’s a legitimate a complaint and complete failure by Edu. It’s unbelievable but after 3 or 4 windows our clear out isn’t even finished yet.
