Edu Gaspar

Arteta gone and take this wanker with him please

Good for him tbh.

If I could, I’d sack of my work and go on holiday after holiday pissing about in the sun

This dude

THIS DUDE

This dude went all the way to Brazil to bring Mari with him. Couldn’t just arrange a ticket for him, Mari is such a precarious talent that Edu flew there himself to bring him.

Would have also brought Guimaraes back but Arteta begged for Xhaka to stay…

This bloke should never have been hired in the first place. Other than being an ex-player, what actually qualified him for the role? He was working as similar in Brazil, where I’m sure there was rumours of dodgy shenanigans involving him, but that doesn’t mean he’s up to it in Europe. Throw in the toxic puppet master Kia, this was always a recipe for disaster.

I didn’t have a problem with the vacation pics but I wasn’t happy with those BBQ pictures yesterday. Having said that, I did notice it was his wife that posted it so she might be oblivious to the situation.

Why are people so invasive? The guys doesn’t need to be sat in some office at the emirates to conduct transfer deals. He can be anywhere he wants and handle business but the age of social media is so bizarre that people are watching the mans wife social media stories to gather his whereabouts.

Yeah majority will be done on whatsapp.

Or asking his son to tell his dad to sign so and so. :man_facepalming:

If he was more visible generally, if people had a clearer idea of his plan or vision (and he doesn’t have to do a video or q&a on this, it could be transmitted through his actions) then I don’t think this would be a problem. But all we really know about the guy is what we see on his wife’s instagram so that’s what people are reacting to. I won’t join in but I get it.

Same way with Bellerin and the fashion or whatever, if he’d been doing the business on the field no one would give a shit.

He wouldn’t be copping anything if we actually had a good summer transfer wise, but given the disaster that has unfolded comments that he’s receiving are bound to unfold.

I find it hard to describe it as invasive when it’s either him or his loved ones putting it out on social media.

He is in a very high profile role in world football, one that comes with a shit ton of scrutiny due to the size of our fanbase. He should be well aware of how it will be viewed if he’s on his fifth holiday in as many weeks while we are having a pretty abysmal transfer window. Rightly or wrongly, the reality is that it will not be taken well by many fans. Its about perception management, and this all stems from the things that him and his circle choose to post on social media. They could just, not.

It’s not like we’re feeding off paps who are camped outside his gaff/hotel and are hassling him and his family, that would of course be very invasive. People commenting on stuff him and his circle unnecessarily uploaded isn’t really invasive imo. Like they literally made their whereabouts and activities public, nobody is invading their privacy really.

It’s not obligatory to document your life on social media, people seem to forget that. Just exercise a tiny bit of restraint. If him and his people just didn’t share a load of photos of them getting sauced on holiday we’d all have zero idea what Edu was up to and there’d be zero scrutiny on the issue.

As @JakeyBoy pointed out, it’s all a perception thing.

He could be on his seventh holiday of the summer but if his family weren’t posting nobody would know or care. We’d care that our market has been crap but assume Edu was still hard at work, whatever that looks like.

Conversely if we’d just smashed the summer, dumped some high earning and underperforming players while bringing in young players to address our areas of need, nobody would give a shit what Edu was doing.

He’s part of the ā€œBe Excitedā€ gang and he’s not delivering. Don’t have a ton of sympathy if people are putting him on blast

This is getting played out a bit. Be excited line from Josh was in reference to the club record Pepe deal not the club’s whole approach moving forward

I think that my issue stems from people being invasive with his family. His wife isn’t a director of football, neither are his kids so stalking their social media profiles is frankly bizarre.

I don’t want to be victim blamey (not that I’m sure anyone is a victim here really), or reveal my ignorance of how social media works lol, but can’t his wife and kids etc have their profiles set to private/protected or whatever?

Surely random football fans can only view their posts and follow them if they make their posts public?

Obviously, if they’re copping flak from gooners online then I’m not saying that’s OK, and is crossing a line. If that’s happening and is what you’re referring to then I won’t stand by my point. But if their public posts are just being taken as ā€œevidenceā€ that Edu isn’t working hard enough then I don’t think its anything too insidious going on.

I know that, but it’s easier shorthand than writing out that Edu is part of a collection of inexperienced and under qualified executives and decision makers at the club who keep over promising change and serving us shit sandwiches.

Give you a like for that exasperated clarification. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nah. Shit sandwiches would be gourmet compared to what these shitbirds are serving.
