Eberechi Eze

Zubimendi, Kepa, Norgaard, Goykeres and Eze in before the pre-season tour would be the perfect start to our new campaign. Gives us 6-7 weeks to wait for a LW opportunity and get some players out.

If I’m right, Berta, I doff my cap to you sir.

This the deal that matters the most,

Improving the left side of our attack is absolutely essential.
Madueke is doing nothing in that regard, so yeah, getting a guy like Eze would be quite big for us.

Madueke isn’t intended for the left wing anyway. He’s being considered as Saka’s back-up. In that respect, there are probably much cheaper options out there.

Talks are also continuing with Crystal Palace and Eberechi Eze, sources said.

Again, things are positive between the three parties but Palace have fixed a fee of €65m for their star player. Eze, like Madueke, is keen on moving to Arsenal.

It is unclear, however, if the club can sign both wide players after completing a move for Gyökeres, which should be done first.

All well and good work from Arteta the way he’s building the team, but I hope he doesn’t hit Eze too hard.

yeah, we don’t need him injured

Anyone else getting that “this is actually going to happen” feeling yet?

If he signs, I’m starting my Football Manager game all over again. Time to order a larger trophy cabinet.

I think it’s more likely than Rodrygo, yeah. Even if Rodrygo becomes available, I feel the finances with Rodrygo will prove too much.
We shall see of course.

Would be pretty lame if we kept our powder dry for two windows just to end up taking the cheaper option in both Gyokeres and Eze.

With Zubimendi, Norgaard and Kepa. Gyokeres and Eze are not cheap either.

Pleased to see no sign of concrete yet. Puts in a good position to negotiate a payment structure for the player.

I would like to see some progress on this by the end of this week…

Yes please

This surely isn’t true

I’m not sure we NEED him, but I’m getting hyped. I think this would be a bonus addition to what we actually require and an expensive one at that.

The Madueke rumours just make zero sense for the outlay. Bring in Rodders and Eze Peasy and we have still added the requisite attacking additions for a ‘win-now’ team.

Why bonus? From all the clips I’ve seen he’d almost bring exactly what Saka brings on the right. Saka doesn’t play as a traditional winger at all. It’s on Arteta to train him how to play off the ball for us (hug the touchline, go deep etc.). But that doesn’t mean he can’t do that. You usually don’t see that in these kind of clips anyway.

Do you view Eze as a LW then? Or the Arsenal version of what a LW is?

Yes. What we ask from our winger is to create triangles on the field, combine with the midfielder behind them (Rice next season?) and the striker too create overloads. We (still) do a lot through the centre of the pitch, we ask that even from our wingers. If the interest is real I’m not really surprised as too why we are interested in him.
