I agree, these two signings are upgrades on what we have and although I rate Eze, he’s not a massive upgrade on Martinelli, although we do need an attacking player of his quality.
But it seems unlikely we’ll get Rodrygo unless he’s a similar price as Eze because Zubimendi, Madueke, Eze and Gyokeres is around 250m, which will be a record breaking window.
I’ve totally missed this. Romano still confidently stays by what he said earlier, that we are still interestes in him, that we are actually in talks with HIS AGENTS (which is our strategy this window) and this is a totally separate deal to Madueke.
I think Ornstein was saying something similar too, how it’s separated from Madueke.
They have been saying that earlier (when those initial Madueke reports arose) but I didn’t believe it at the time.
Romano still fully sticking by it is an encouraging sign at least.
I think at this stage it probably depends on some outgoings, and how do we structure the deal (to fit into the FFFFFP)… But now I really believe we might do it.
Yeah, no way we are going so deep into all these 3 big deals at the same time (Madueke just done last nigh, close to concluding Gyok and this + Mosquera in the background). Surely we’ll need to wrap up Gyokeres first (over the next few days according to my sources) in order to focus on Eze.
