Eberechi Eze (10)

Yeah I mean I would’ve preferred to put him out left and bring ode on in the middle like I said in the GDT.

I think had we gone full baller when he made the first subs, we might’ve gotten the win.

Odegaard - Zubi - rice

Saka - merino - eze

Then bring Jesus on last 15, would’ve left vik out today tbh - it wasn’t set up for him to make his mark.

Just peaks and valleys, wouldn’t be surprised if he pops up with something against Brentford then is unimpressive against Villa.

Wizard Filth!

Chucked 2 absolute stinkers away at Chelsea and Villa.

You want Eze in the gaps and taking up central positions. Versus he Villa ended up too wide and having to dribble into the centre rather than receiving there.

vs

Outside of Trossard and Saka, he’s one of the few players that can get a goal from nothing. So he has to be platformed correctly.

Another nothing burger from him yesterday, 68m worth it for the hattrick against spurs but honestly time to see more. That game was the outlier.

Not been injured or disrupted in his introduction to the team, need better.

He’s basically been ineffective in every game he’s played this season. He’s had moments and with a little more luck he’d have a couple more goals but I haven’t seen anything that’s been outstanding from him yet.

I think he’s the kind of player who is capable of creating something out of nothing so he’ll be important over the course of the season but I’m not sure he’s ready to displace Odegaard just yet.

At the every least I prefer Odegaard off the ball and also how much he desires getting on it and showing for his team mates.

He’s been pretty underwhelming, but in under 3 months I can say hatrick vs Spurs, point winning and possibly title defining moment against City, 3 points earned vs Palace and an assist vs Bayern.

I’d favour that over what Odegaard has been offering as our attacking midfielder. Funnily enough though, I’ve seen more from Merino than both.

When folks called him a “moments player”, does that imply he’s a bit crap throughout the rest of the 90 minutes?

he was like that for Palace, Olise and Zaha were both better

I loved Olise at Palace (both on and off the pitch) and was really hoping we’d go after him. I’m more than happy with Noni though.

Pretty much. My Palace friends said that’s their biggest criticism of him too. Turns up for half a season, has moments of magic, but it’s never consistent.

Wouldn’t mind seeing him and Ode play together in the two midfield spots. Rice could probably have rested yesterday considering Wolves barely tried anything all game.

Given a chance to impress but another quiet game.

We need more from him.

Struggled against Palace but I reckon he’d kill it against Famalicao or Sporting Braga.

I’m on my last warning, don’t bait me.

Willing to still give him time cause it’s only been a few months but the season is reaching a critical point and we need our big players to contribute. He’s got 6 G+A in 15 league games, of which 3 came in one game against the Scum. So that makes it 4 games he’s truly affected in 15. That’s not great.

Better than Nodegaard.

But Eze really?
