He’s was good last season but poor this one. I still think he’s a good striker but you can’t sign him for mega money on the back of this form

People get really elated when a player comes back from injury and stutters a bit. They feel like it completely validates their viewpoint as though there isn’t a player alive who doesn’t come back from a lay off into a shit team and have a hard time of it.
It was the exact same as Maddison and look at the numbers and performances he’s put up. Not that DCL is as much of a specialist in his position as Madders but as a number two here he would be a fine acquisition, you’re looking at players like DCL, Tammy, Toney to replace Nketiazette not Auba. If it can be done at the right price it’s still a fine move.
Could be a cut price given his poor form this season + Everton being potentially relegated.
I have to say that I’ve never been hot on him being an Arsenal player but if you can pick him up for £25M I don’t think we’ve had our pants pulled down.
He is adequate rather than world class.
Unless we pay around 100m, this is the level of striker a club who hasn’t played CL football for several seasons, is going to get.
So If Arteta is going for a striker from the PL then DCL looks the most likely.

If we’re gonna pay stupid money for an English striker, I say we go for Harvey Barnes. The boy plays with no fear.
The problem is, he occupies the same area of the field as ESR and Martinelli. It’s an area we’re, strangely, already very strong in.

I like the look of him.
I like DCL too, just not as our marquee signing. If we finish in EL places I could absolutely see the club trying to patch things with Lacazette on a one year deal and DCL. That’s a big worry for me.

When Tierney comes back in February 2023* we’ll have a decent striker to cross to.
*He’ll come back in July, get hurt again and be out until October. Then miss time after getting hurt playing in the World Cup.
