I think this is why we do need to sell Norgaard and buy another top class midfielder. Tonali or Anderson would give us excellent depth.

Didn’t like his performance yesterday. Need likes of him and Gabriel to stand strong but both buckling a bit.

I normally don’t give a toss who wears the armband because it clearly doesn’t change anything, but I must admit I did get a bit giddy seeing him lead us out on a big European night. Something felt very right about it.

Hopefully Rice is the captain now moving forward. Especially after Odegaard is shipped out
Rice is absolutely the right person to wear the captain’s band.
People may say it means nothing but a good captain is necessary.

Just rest him for the group stages of the World Cup. Surely mighty England don’t need him to get past Croatia, Ghana and Panama.
I think fans are learning that our players have been playing through injury for months or years.
So folk like Rice will probably get a pass for a while, like Saka had.
Overboiled his players to the point where the core signings he bought in that pivotal 21 + 22 summer are all injury prone.
Every one of them has had to be replaced, when they all should be coming into their peak.
I’m sorry but name me a single top top player who doesn’t play 50-60 game a season??
I don’t understand why Arteta gets all the criticism for this?
I can’t think of a time in my life where that hasn’t been the case as a football fan.
