Declan Rice x Thierry Henry
What a goals reel. He only scores bangers
Him and Saka only called up for the second match and join the camp next Saturday, along with nine other overworked players. They’ll get a full week to rest, recover, and train at Colney after the final.
Finally some sensible shit from a national team manager.
Really disappointed in him today. Generally these are the games he shines the most.
In Odegaard’s absence he should be the midfield general and we got absolutely dominated from the end of the first half to the start of the second.
He was poor but we often seemed to be playing 2 v 3 in the midfield. I think Havertz was supposed to play more like a second striker than an attacking midfielder and it just didn’t work.
Didn’t turn up. Uncharacteristic
He was truly brilliant in first half. But in second half, couldn’t get near the ball.
He lost impact when City adapted and from then on, we were largely outnumbered in the midfield. I think Arteta should have reacted sooner (circa 5 mins before their first goal) played Cala or MLS but more importantly, I think we should have played with a back 3 of (hincapie/Cala - Gabi - Saliba) and loaded the Midfield.
Second half they started out leaving our backline with the ball, because they then had 5/6 on 2/3 in the midfield, stopping us playing out from the back. We had to do more to match them in the midfield.
Yesterday was a game we really missed Merino imo, we were not combatative enough/winning our midfield duals.
Really good captain.
I thought he was excellent in the first half, mopped up nicely and generally looked good for the outball.
Saw something via social media this morning, unaired footage of him limping coming down some stairs ![]()
I am sorry but empty words until you prove it
Please come back.
He was so good.
must be ranting to his wife how utterly useless his teammates are and how he has to carry all of them all the time
More progressive passer than Ode these days. We need to win something for him.
He looks very fatigued. Rice at 70% still needs to start though. I’d like rest him next week but we can’t.
I have no idea where you are getting the fatigued bit from if anything I thought this was more a return to the Rice we know. I thought he was comfortably one of the best players on the pitch, good line breaking passes and picked up a bucket load of loose balls.
He was good but there were a couple of times where he wanted to burst but didn’t seem to quite have it.
Didn’t suggest he played poorly.
I don’t disagree. I think he wasn’t 100% tonight but a below par Rice is still a very good player.
